You always loved my poems
You would sit and listen to me babble them out
Explaining my secret metaphors and verses
You listened to my pain and sorrow through my words
Saw the beauty through all the pain
You not only saw them but you changed them
My sad words became sappy
It was like you switched on a light in the dark room
For a while...
I wanted to write for the better
But now I'm writing a poem about you
Not like the ones I've written about you before
But a poem that is mine
To keep... unlike you,
The silly metaphors that hide my pain now cry your name
Why did you go so soon?
Was it me...
How can the person who made me better, break me even worse?
I want to run back to you and just get angry
Let you see my pain... like you once heard it through my words
But this pain is now one you caused
At this moment I would also give anything to be next to you,
Uncovering my deepest darkest secrets...
No anger... no pain
Just me and you
And my poems
