sunjin dragged jungwon to the nurse, almost everyone watching the two leave.
they walked in silence, footsteps were the only source of noise heard.
sunjin already knew about sunwoo, she was actually going to break up with him today but with what happened today, she didn't get the chance too.
a small tug broke her train of thoughts. she glanced beside to look at jungwon with an eyebrow raise.
"why are dating him?" his raspy voice almost made sunjin fall to her knees.
"i'm breaking up with him today."
jungwon stopped in his tracks causing sunjin to stumble by the sudden stop.
"you didn't answer my question. why are you dating him ?"
sunjin looked back. her eyes following their still holding hands since the field. she met his eyes who stared at her with so much emotion she couldn't identify.
sunjin sighed, tightening her grip. "because i liked him and.." she stopped herself.
because i wanted to get over you.
"you deserve better sunjin. someone who can treat you right and will put you first. they'll choose you over anyone." jungwon suddenly confessed.
sunjin thought at his response. her stomach was filled with butterflies. "you didn't call me sunni"
jungwon slightly scoffed. "that little speech and you only managed to catch that"
she didn't answer, only looking at their hands. how perfect her hand fit in his. how cold she was and how warm he was.
"jungwon do you.." sunjin took a breath before continuing. "do you like me?"
maybe this caught the boy by surprise because he didn't answer. it was silent for a while making sunjin even regret speaking.
"no, you're like my sister sunni" a lie. but she didn't know thats.
sunjin hummed before turning around. her hand leaving his. "come on, we still have to get you to the nurse"

let's break up.
with that sunjin turned off her phone. she didn't want to see sunwoo so she decided on breaking up with him on phone. a pussy move but then again he was also knocked out.
sunjin sat on the roof, deciding to skip her classes today. after dropped off jungwon at the nurse, she left- or tried to. jungwon begged her to stay but she smiled at him saying "can't skip classes for you wonie, sorry"
maybe it was a bit harsh but it's not like he didn't like her anyway. he can handle being alone at the nurse.
instead of going to class though, she came to the roof for a breather. her friends texted her saying how the rumors cleared up because jay yelled at everyone.
but sunjin still didn't feel happy. sure the rumors of her being a cheater were not true, she broke up with sunwoo, and jungwon.. indirectly regretted her.
hot tears streamed down her face. why does she even like him? why couldn't she be a normal person and not fall for her best friend. ever since they were kids, they were inseparable. and it stayed like that until now. maybe because jungwon was good looking, nice, understanding, she fell for him.
or because he saw the side of her no one sees. how she ugly cries when an animal dies in a movie, her voice cracks while singing at the top of her lungs. her drooling on her pillow when sleeping. how she couldn't stop crying when her brothers moved.
jungwon was with her through all that. he stayed by her side, holding her, crying with her. that's why she liked yang jungwon.
or she loved yang jungwon. but he didn't love her.
the end.
