An invitation by Bruce Wayne is not easily reclined. The last time she had seen him, which was at least a few weeks ago, he had asked her to come to a party he would be hosting at his own housing. Diana felt that though it was a highly kind gesture from his side, it was improper to attend such an event. She wondered if perhaps Bruce did see her as a friend. After all, their relationship was meant to be somewhat professional. In truth, she had not yet finished her education, yet still had the wittiness to call herself his psychiatrist. She would dare not to show her face at an event like that. Though then again, she was very eager to experience a party that was organised by Bruce Wayne once. For Bruce Wayne was very well known for his lavish and luxurious life-style.
She hadn't told Adam, her then lover, of the invitation, in fact she hadn't told Adam of the contact she had shared with Bruce. She was sure that he would disapprove of it. Adam and her had kept their relationship a secret for over a year. This was due to the fact that they had started seeing one another at the beginning of her college-year, he was her professor. Though it could be considered highly controversial for a teacher to let himself be romantically involved with a student to was Adam a quite respective and proper man. He was a married man, he shared two kids with his unloving wife, a daughter that was aged four years old and a son that was aged nine. As a professor at the university of Gotham City, and alongside a share of a large family-inheritance, he was a wealthy man. Of course, not as wealthy as the billionaire Bruce Wayne himself. Many people would consider a married man, who had an affair with a student of his to be most improper. But if he himself was improper, then he would still understand that for Diana to claim to be anyone's psychiatrist without the proper degree, was most improper.
He could not shame her for something he did not know. And for the fact that Adam was quite a busy man as well, did Diana not care to tell him much of her personal life. Besides that, if an attractive and rich man would offer her to go on a date with him, she would not likely decline. Just as she would not likely decline Bruce's invitation. And you do not decline an invitation from Bruce Wayne himself.
Diana had come from a rich family. She had been used to the customs of the elite. She could barely say that she missed those customs. Her father made sure that she had always enough money to tend for herself. She lived very luxurious. The only thing she lacked was a proper friend. For Diana did not socialise much with people of her age. She was only invited to meetings that had some form of educational purposes. She was mostly amongst a scientific circle of peers. The rest of her time she was very much alone, with older men, or perhaps even in the company of her fat, grey cat. She did not party like the people of her age did. She did not have any kind of hobby. Buy she always wanted to pretend that she was a very interesting person. She did so by accessorising herself with expensive jewellery and clothes. A week prior to the feast, she would start to plan what she wanted to wear, in what way she would dress het hair, what make-up she would put on. At times of events like that she would realise that she would become much more like her own mother. Who had always revelled in the attention of her own wealthy peers. One could catch Diana with that same obsession from time to time, if she had had any good peers. She wasn't liked very much by other woman. They mostly envied her, and if they did not envy her, they did not like her for the fact that she received so much male attention. If by any chance, she was able to miraculously befriend a woman, it would not last for long. Women were too keen on being aware of her manipulative and selfish manners. Men were far too occupied by the look of her bust or the length of her skirt.
Perhaps at her arrival to the Wayne estate, she would become the slightest of nervous. She would check herself within the reflection of every window and mirror, only to confirm that she still looked the same at every glance. But even if she did not find herself to be pretty enough, would she always be beautiful to all who beheld her. That was why men liked her so much. She knew very well that she would not see any familiar faces at the party, but she tried her best to remain unbothered by that fact. She knew that some or another man would let his eyes fall onto her and then would offer her his company. Besides, she meant not to stay for an exceptionally long while. She did not even know in what honour he hosted this feast. She simply wanted to show Bruce that she replied to his invitation in order to show him that she was of interest to him. Not because she felt anything for him, but because she was sure that personal involvement if required ( and in this case was required for Bruce himself had explained that he wanted her to be there) would always stimulate therapy.

General FictionGeorge Orwel once said that writers have become lame, for they avoid to describe things in detail and do proper research before they write a piece. Writing is valuable both aesthetically and informationally. That is what this is.
