"You're late, as usual." stated the joker as he watched Diana enter the monitored Ward.

"Just a second, Mr Jay," she said as she ran to her office on her high heels, "I'll be right there."

The night alone had given Diana the chance to reflect upon her actions. She wondered why she was not able to protect herself, why she had been so weak. But she knew that not anyone could understand her if she explained why she wasn't happy. Though she was grateful, she had rather been the one to save herself, than to be a damsel in destress for the Batman.

Diana was indeed, extremely late for work that day. At least two hours after her shift began, was it that she arrived. This had never happened before, Diana had always been quite on time for the sake of her patients, perhaps ten minutes late, but today she only had one patient, and lots to care for concerning the charity event. But by the looks of it was this particular patient not satisfied with her late appearance.

"Excuse my delay" Diana said as she grabbed her chair and placed it in front of Joker's cell.

She tried to think of an excuse as to why she was late but decided not to tell anything. After all, joker had no matter to what was happening in her personal life.

"I almost thought you were going to pull a no-show" Joker said as he sat up straight in his bed.

Diana said nothing as she tried to find her laptop in the bag that laid next to the chair. He beheld calmly as she sat back up and placed the thing onto her lap. It seemed incredibly uncomfortable.

"Tell me:" He asked, "why should you meet me here?"

She understood why he asked her that question. she had thought of the perfect answer to it sometime ago. He deserved no privilege, that was what she thought.

"Certain privacy is a privilege to obtain." She simply said, "do I have to explain this each and every time?"

"You cold hearted bitch." he simply returned with a smile.

She ignored his remark as she looked down. As they shared silence, down the hallway, the few guards that were left of the mass of supervisors the Joker had been obligated to, were chatting, and laughing a little.

"Just this morning," Joker started, "they were talking about you doc."

It was true, they had once again discussed Diana's relationship to Bruce, while one guard had said that he had seen Diana with a certain Roman Sionis. Joker knew her taste In men was expensive, but he also knew that Roman was quite an unsavoury type. He wondered for what purpose she had agreed to see that man. He even felt a little jealous that she wanted to go out with a red head like him, and not share some privacy with himself.

Joker seemed to be keen on explaining towards Diana how he differed from other men. Yet Diana saw nothing of it, especially not since their last meeting. Diana had learned to ignore these remarks, just as much as the name-calling and the threats.

"Want to know what they said?" Joker asked her with a playful smile.

"Not really" Diana sighed.

Joker felt as if she did not appreciate him in his rightful worth, it made him angry that she wasn't as submissive and sweet as she had been before. But he recognized that he had brought it onto himself, in a way.

Besides that, he could feel that Diana had changed, and not for the better. He already knew that she was going to break any time soon, he wanted it. But at the same time, he felt remorse, for he would lose a small part of her which he liked very much.
