To call this an awkward situation was an understatement.

A couple of minutes had passed since the group of four had split up into two pairs of two with Alex going with Siegfried and Kiana going with Theresa.

Needless to say, Alex had kept awkwardly silent, not knowing how to engage in a conversation with the white haired male.

Not only that but Alex was also thinking about the current situation going on right now.

'The more I think about it, the more off putting this seems. Me and Kiana being here automatically should be causing changes to the present, especially now that we've encountered Theresa from the past and Siegfried, but I can't fathom why there would be a time traveling machine underground beneath St. Freya. It could easily fall into the wrong hands.' Thought Alex before a question popped into his head.

'Wait. What if that isn't even a time traveling machine? What if, we were just sucked into a simulation?' Thought Alex.

Before Alex could further elaborate on his question, he felt a pat on the back as he looked up and saw Siegfried.

"Hey kid. You suddenly stopped moving there for a second." He said.

"O-Oh sorry about that. My apologies." Replied Alex as the two continued to walk as the man simply chuckled.

"No worries kiddo. I can tell that you're thinking about a lot right now." He said.

"Like you're one to talk. Shouldn't you be under tons of pressure right now? You're under a strict time limit to take down the Herrscher before your wife arrives here." Said Alex.

"Yeah I am, but personally I enjoy working with my back against the wall. Gives me even more motivation to turn the tables and beat the odds stacked against me." Said Siegfried as he clenched his fist and had a confident smile on his face.

'Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Kiana definitely got her optimistic, upbeat confidence from her father.' Thought Alex.

"Besides, no matter what I need to try my absolute best to prevent Cecilia from coming here. I made a promise to protect and preserve my life with my wife and my daughter. I'll do anything neccessary to make sure that my happy family keeps going. Even if I have to die just to make sure that my wife and daughter get to keep living, then so be it that's the chance I'll take. I won't accept any form of failure." Said Siegfried in a more serious tone this time.

For giving such an awkward first impression with him unknowingly hitting on his future daughter, Alex began to understand Siegfried a bit more.

He was just an honest, upbeat man looking for some sort of joys on this battlefield, and that he definitely knew when to turn it up a notch and get serious.

"So then, what's the plan? We're gonna need to execute everything perfectly if we're gonna have to even be in a position to take down a Herrscher." Asked Alex.

"Honestly, even I don't know what'll go down. From what I've been told so far, this Herrecher is only a child. That means that its powers and what it does are highly unstable and unpredictable. We're just gonna have to hope that faith is on our side." Said Siegfried as Alex sighed.

"Oh lovely. Faith." He said sarcastically before getting a pat on the back from the older Kaslana.

"Oh cheer up boy! With me by your side everything should go okay!" He said with a confident smile.

'The fact that he can go from being serious to now confident in just a split second amazes me.' Thought Alex.

Eventually the conversation died out as the two quickly approached the area where the Herrscher was reportedly seen.

As the two made it there, something...odd happened.

He didn't know why, but Alex's vision began to get blurry as it got worse and worse every passing second.

It got so bad that Alex had to stop and kneel down for a second as it was becoming physically impossible to move forward.

As if that wasn't odd enough, through the blurry vision he could've sworn he saw the landscape and area in front of him twist, warp, and appear staticky.

This persisted for what felt like an hour until suddenly, it all just stopped as Alex took that moment to pant and breathe heavily, just to regain himself before hearing Siegfried in a oddly tired tone.

"H-Hey kid...you, doing okay?" Asked the man as Alex nodded before he noticed blood drip onto the snowy ground. He looked up, reacting in shock as he saw the older Kaslana beaten up and worn out, as he has blood trailing down from the left side of his head and from both sides of his mouth, as he was using an orange colored blade to hold him up.

"S-Siegfried what happened!?" Immediately asked a panicked Alex.

The man chuckled a bit.

"S-Seems like even she also wore you out so badly that you conked out earlier. L-Let's just say, that we were easily beaten down...to a pulp." Said the man as he chuckled and gave a small smirk. "To think, that Theresa hasn't...arrived here yet. I guess, her short...little legs can only take her so far."

Suddenly, a bright glow engulfed the sky as Alex looked up to see a bright silhouette illuminating in what Alex thought was the 2nd Herrscher as it spoke in an echoey like voice.

"Well well human, I gotta hand it to you. The fact that you were able to fight me this long is impressive. You may be even stronger than that maiden I fought earlier today." Said the Herrscher.

Siegfried closed his eyes, holding a hand out signaling Alex to back up which he did as the man slowly began to stand up.

"T-Thanks, for the compliment. However, from the moment this fight began I already knew that even with Theresa's help, defeating you was impossible." Said Siegfried.

"Wow. Quite the display of humbleness human. You know, if you beg for mercy I'll consider letting you go." Said the glowing Herrscher.

Siegfried took a moment to reply, before looking back at Alex, giving him a smile as he turned back to face the Herrscher.

"I appreciate the thought pretty lady, but, I've already made my choice." Said the man.

Alex didn't know what was gonna happen, until he noticed Siegfried's weapon glowing, as it began to flare and heat up immensely.

"To protect the ones I love, I'm willing to sacrifice everything, even my own life!" Shouted the man as he was now on his feet, holding the blade high above him as the flames now turned into an inferno with how blazing hot they've become.

"W-What's going on!? Why's your sword suddenly getting immense power!?" Asked the Herrscher in a panic as Siegfried simply smiled.

Alex was amazed at this sudden display of power from the Kaslana.

'These flames, are more potent than my own.' Thought the kid.

"It's time for you to go to hell! Unleash!" Shouted Siegfried as everything around them began to glow brighter and brighter, until the last thing Alex heard was Siegfried shouting.

"JUDGEMENT OF SHAMASH!"
