After going down memory lane to try and remember details of the place, it turns out it was the new cafe that Darien had been asking me to go to. We figured this is the perfect time to go then. As we walked in I looked in, Darien said. "So do you see mystery woman?" I sighed, "it was just a dream." I ordered a black coffee with sugar and a chocolate muffin, Darien ordered a banana bread and coffee. After ordering she told us to take a seat.I turned around walking to the direction by the door, I felt something hit my chest and I looked down. It was the woman from my dream this time. She had a face, a face I knew well. "Shit." She cursed
K-KaiLani." I stuttered out confused on why she was the woman in my dream and what she's doing here. "Mommy, that man looks like daddy." A soft voice spoke, I looked down to see a Caramel skin toned child with curly hair and big light brown eyes. The more I look at him the more his face kind of looks like mine. At first glance he looks like KaiLani then when you look at his features closer he looks like me. He's beautiful, he's a mixture of me and KaiLani.
I was taken out of my trance when KaiLani grabbed the boy and ran out the door. I wanted an explanation, I ran out the door after her. "KaiLani, is he mine?" I asked. She ignored me. "KaiLani is-" she cut my next words off yelling over me. "Yes! Yes he is but you didn't know that because the night I found out, I called you and you said you wanted nothing to do with me," I noticed the attention turning to us, but I didn't care. She got close to my face more like my chest since she's shorter than me and whispered "You said you wanted nothing to do with me, so don't try and come back into my life."
She got into a taxi and drove off, I ran to the car as Darien stood there confused. "We gotta follow the taxi." I yelled getting in the car keeping the taxi in close eye sight but not enough for her to know I'm following her.
The taxi pulls into the Sea life aquarium parking lot. I chuckled, "she was taking him out to look around." I waited for her to get out and go inside, not wanting to follow her immediately. "What's goin on?" Darien asks to eat his banana bread . I sighed, "I'm gonna try and make this short. A few years ago when I ran away from Italy because I didn't want to take over, I found a woman named KaiLani who I now know was the woman from my dream. We dated and I broke up with her a few days after her birthday because I didn't want to bring her into this lifestyle. Turns out she had a son and he's my son." Darien stared at me silently.
"Damn, She didn't tell you?" He asked, I groaned. "She did, well tried but I didn't listen." I admitted honestly, "Well nigga, She tried to tell you multiple time or one?"
"Multiple."
He kissed his teeth, "Well my nigga that's your fault, she tried to tell you and you didn't listen. She wanted the best for her son and included you in her child's life and you didn't want to. Know you better go fix this shit and pray she doesn't take yo ass to court." I scoffed, "If she wants to go to court then we can go."
He propped his arm up on the window and turned to me, "You know how stupid you sound? This is how the judge is gonna look at it. She called you telling you she was pregnant, you didn't give a fuck and now all of a sudden you want to be in the child's life. Then when you pull that I didn't know shit, the judge is gonna say how you didn't know when she tried to tell you? Then that's when your gonna look dumb as fuck."
I listened to what Darien said, as much as I hate to admit it he has a point. I need to fix this. After about five minutes I got out of the car walking into the Aquarium. The man was about to say something about tickets but when he realized who I was he said, "M-Mr M-oretti." I ignored him and continued walking around trying to find them.
