After the moment this morning it would be a big ass lie to say I'm not attracted to KaiLani. I thought after all these years if I ever saw her again I'd be one of those awkward run ins and it'd just be embarrassing. I was wrong.KaiLani left not too long ago for work. I had some paperwork to finish before I started. I needed to check on Kalias to make sure he was okay, and since it's now around seven am he might be hungry.
I opened the door taking a look at sleeping Kalias. His foot was hanging off the edge of the bed as he was sprawled out on the bed like a starfish. His mouth gauged open slightly, I chuckled at the sight before closing the door behind me.
Walking into the kitchen grabbing a glass of water Alonzo sat on his phone. "Quando Kalias si sveglia assicurati che mangi, se mi sta cercando sarò nel mio ufficio." When Kalias wakes up make sure he eats, if he's looking for me I'll be in my office. He nodded his head letting me know he heard me and would do.

I sighed, looking over to my left at the papers still left to go through, then to my right at the small stack of papers done. I glanced at the time on my laptop which read, 12 pm . My door knob wiggled, my hand slid towards the gun in my waistband. "Open the door." A small voice said behind the door. I sighed, then chuckled, tucking my gun back into my waistband.
I walked towards the door opening it, I looked down at his small figure walking into the door with his Spider-Man Pjs on. "What you doing?" I closed the door walking to sit back down at my desk, "Working," he followed behind me standing next to my chair standing on his tippy toes trying to see. "Can I see?" He asked, I picked him up, placing him on my thigh so he could see. "Woahhhh that's a lot of paper."
"Yeah." I agreed, shaking my head. "Can you fix me food?" He looked at me with his big eyes, and I smiled softly. "Yeah, what do you want?" "Ummm, chicken nuggets and fries with ketchup." I picked him up and put him down as I got up walking, he stopped making me look back. "I thought you were working."
"I can do it later, let's go eat." He started walking beside me, I opened the door for him letting him go first, "thank you." A small smile formed on my lips, "You welcome."
After the food was done we sat down together eating our food. "Why did you leave my mommy?" I was taken back by the question but I guess I kinda expected something of that form just not so out there. "Work needed me, and I was afraid your mom would hate me if she knew what I did. I also wanted her safety to be put first since my job is dangerous. Back then I wasn't sure I could protect her like a can now. I'm truly sorry I wasn't there for you at the beginning but I am now."
Kalias locked eyes with me, I was afraid he wasn't gonna blink. He looked down at his food, putting a fry in his mouth chewing it before he spoke. He locked eyes with me once more, "I still don't know if I can trust you. I saw pictures of you and wanted to see them everyday but it always made mommy sad talking about you."
I held my head down, taking in the information. I need to prove to not only Kalias but KaiLani that I'm here to stay and that I'm not going anywhere. I knew I hurt them but not this much, it makes me feel so guilty. I want to go back in time and make myself listen to what she had to say, maybe this would've turned out so much better.
"I'm done." Kalis snapped at me out of thought, I grabbed his plate and mine, putting them in the sink, as I washed the dishes he stood watching me, I turned to the left. "What's up Kalias." He tilted his head, "Want to watch a movie with me?" I shrugged, "sure."
