Vritika's POV
I walk in the living room in a simple salwar suit and a relaxed mind after so long. All the elders, mosiji and Umang are all not in the house for two days as they have gone for the pooja in the village held every year before mummy and papaji's anniversary.
I look around with a frown when I don't find any worker in the hall and look around to find anyone. I see Dhriti walking out of the kitchen with a huge smile on her face and I realize that it is her doing only that no one is in the house
"Where are the workers" I asked as she looked at me and she gave me a sheepish smile as she walked towards me
"I gave them leave for a day. They will come back the day after tomorrow" she said and I widened my eyes as the dinner was not even prepared yet.
"Why" I asked a bit loudly and she gulped but took another step towards me
"Bhabhi, it's just us six in the house today. So I thought they all could have some leave too" she said looking down and I nodded my head still giving her a look.
"Bhabhi" I heard a voice and saw Sritija walking towards us in office wear and I gave her a smile. She really is very innocent for this world.
"You are back?" I asked her with a smile like how my father used to always ask me whenever I returned from the academy and she smiled and nodded her head
"Ji. Where are the helpers?" She asked and I turned to again give a look to Dhriti and she ran to the kitchen as she saw me giving her a look
"She gave them all a leave for a day" I said and Sritija nodded her head and smiled as she focused on something behind me and I turned to see Dhriti carrying water for her in a tray
"Bhabhi" Dhriti said passing me a glass of water too and I accepted it and drank it in one go. I don't know what we are gonna do now. Kiaan can't eat food from outside.
"Is the dinner ready" Sritija asked as she finished drinking the water and kept her glass on the table
"No" I said shaking my head with a bit annoyed face and Dhriti gave me smile with a sheepish look on her face.
"I will cook, bhabhi. I will just change first" Sritija said in a very sweet voice and I gave her a smile and shook my head lightly
"No, it's okay. I will manage. You are just coming back from your office. You need rest too" I said and Sritija looked a bit sadly at me and nodded her head
"Okay, but I will help you" she said and gave me a smile and I nodded my head as I surely needed a lot of help to prepare food for all of these people in just an hour and that too according to their preferences or half of them won't just eat.
"I will help you to cook too, bhabhi" Dhriti said coming and standing next to Sritija with her signature smile and all the anger of anyone will melt after just seeing this smiles of her.
"Vritika, if you don't want to get the kitchen burnt down. Don't even let her get inside" I heard Vivaan's voice and turned to see him walking towards us giving Dhriti a look while she had an offended expression
"It was just once. And I didn't burn the kitchen I burned the food" she said and her voice got slow with every word and I stared at her wide eyed
"That's worse" Vivaan said and stopped to stand next to her while she gave him a smile and he rolled his eyes
"Then you will help us" I said giving a smile to Vivaan and he gave me an annoyed look. I know he knows how to cook and that too better than anyone in the house.
