Vritika's POV
A sad smile appears on my face as I see Dhriti and Sritija conversing with their families. And I stand alone in a corner just smiling seeing them. I sometimes wish that God has not take them away so soon but as papa said God always gives the hardest tests to there most loved soldiers.
I smile as I see Sritija looking at me and pushing her younger sister to greet me. I smile and join my hands in Namaste as her younger sister waves her hand towards me. She then turns around and again starts blabbering with her sister. I stand straight as I see mummy walking towards me.
"Here, I know you must have not had anything" mummy said passing me a plate of snacks and I nodded my head as I took the plate from her.
"You know when you used to come to our house daily when you were younger. I always felt like I have a daughter too" she said and a sad smile came on my face again as I picked on the food she brought me solely focusing my eyes on the plate and my ears on her talks
"And then you left suddenly for your studies. I really missed you and kept asking Kiaan and Vivaan about your whereabouts" she continued and I took a deep breath remembering Vivaan telling me about this once in college.
"And then one day you came into our lives permanently and you know I never told you this but I was very happy to have you by always my side" she said and I looked at her passing her a smile slightly side hugging her as she patted my head lovingly.
I again get busy in the work after talking with mummy. I smile as I see Dhiraj walking towards me. He is Dhriti's twin brother though she still calls him bhaiya. I always have felt like he is also my younger brother as he was really sweet in the wedding or whenever I have met him after that.
"Namaste" he said as he stood in front of me and I passed him a smile and joined my hands to return his gesture
"How are you" he asked and I blinked at him. It's a bit odd that he is talking to me alone because we never did so. We only talked about management stuff in the wedding.
"I am good. How are you" I asked and he shrugged and I saw a hesitant look come on his face. I tilted my face a bit trying to understand his actions
"I need to ask you something" he said and I nodded my head in assurance at him to continue as I saw him shuffling his legs
"I heard you worked at the academy before marriage and I really need some connection there. I have something" he said and stuttered at the last sentence as he bit his lip and a smile involuntarily came on my face.
"What kind of work?" I asked and he looked at me in embarrassment. I definitely have an idea about his this work now. Dhriti would be so delighted to know about this
"I want to visit the place to meet someone" he said and looked here and there to see if someone was around us and I smiled wider as my instincts were right
"Okay, I have some connections at the academy still. I can maybe arrange something" I said and saw his face suddenly brightened up
"Thankyou bhabhi" he said almost going to jump and I chuckled.
"What are you two talking about" I heard Kiaan's voice and felt some warmth on my back and I gasped very slowly as I realized it was his hand which was inside my pallu and was now resting on my back.
