Sritija's POV
I walk downstairs completely ready in a formal pair of simple kurta and jeans. I fumble as I look around the hall filled with everyone. It is my first time wearing jeans after coming here. I fix my clothes and look around to spot Rayaan
I smile as I see Rayaan standing near Dadaji and talking with him. I start taking steps towards them but halt in my way. I stop as I see Umang walking in and stopping just in front of me giving me a creep loo as I took a step back
"Good morning bhabhi" he said and I just nodded my head trying to move past him and towards Rayaan
"You look very sexy in these jeans" he said taking a step towards me while giving me a look as I again took a step back. I held the cloth of my kurta in my hand tightly as his voice triggered something from the past
"Are you okay" I heard a voice and turned around to see Vivaan bhaiya right behind me as he looked at me with a comforting expression in his eyes
"I am fine" I said nodding my head as I felt a drop of sweat trickle down my forehead. Vivaan bhaiya's expression changed from soft to his usual in a second as he glared at Umang
"Didn't I tell you something last time?" Vivaan bhaiya said taking a step towards Umang as his smile vanished and he started looking nervous now
"I was just saying good morning to her" Umang said a bit stuttering and taking a step back as bhaiya stood in front of him with his hands in his pocket and a glare that could literally kill a human
"Oh, should I greet you I'm a such a sweet way too" Vivaan bhaiya said raising his eyebrows slightly and sarcasm dripping from his each word. I took a deep breath as I saw Umang turn on his heels and get away from there
"Thankyou bhaiya" I said in a low voice with a smile on my lips. Vivaan bhaiya turned towards me and sighed ad he looked me over
"Don't step back. You can always teach him a lesson" Vivaan bhaiya said in a very genuine tone and I smiled at him nodding my head.
I wish I was more like Vritika bhabhi but I know I can never teach the other one a lesson. I couldn't do it back then and I am not so sure I can do it now either.

I sit on my usual chair beside Rayaan and look around to see everyone already settled except Vritika bhabhi who was nowhere around. I saw some helpers stepping in and serving us all food and I did the task on my own
I took the first bite of my poha when my eyes caught something. I focused in the direction of the main gate and saw Vritika bhabhi walking inside looking lost. She looked like she had been crying, he face looked pale and eyes emotionless
"Is this the time the eldest daughter in law of the house enters the breakfast" Mosiji commented and I saw Rayaan's muscle flex as he clutched the fork in his hands in a tight grip
"I am going to my room" Vritika bhabhi said looking ahead and to no one in particular as she took some steps towards the stairs. Mosiji scoffed and mummyji showed her her eyes
"Vritika, where did you go so early in the morning?" Mummyji asked in a soft voice and I saw bhabhi stop in mid way as she slightly turned to look at mummyji
"I went to the temple" Vritika bhabhi said and the next second climbed up the stairs leaving a silent table. I looked around the table and saw everyone sitting with a remorseful look on their faces or gritted teeth
"Is this time to return from temple? She is eldest daughter in law and how could she be not here for the preparation of everything" Mosiji continued her ranting and I saw Rayaan's clutch on the spoon tighten and his jaw clench. I immediately moved my hand and held his in a soft way
