He knew it was wrong, but he simply wasn't satisfied with the way things ended yesterday. And so, Kane was out on the town once again, slinking through the city to see if he could find anything.
The teenager had first visited where Soothsayer had attacked last, the Scrap N Junk. At least, that's what Laura told him. She was getting suspicious of all his questions, so he had to wrap this up soon. He figured there had to be a clue as to what was really going on somewhere. And as he suspected, there were.
As Kane made his way around the junkyard, he took notice of something to constant to be coincidence.
There was barely any metal in the whole junkyard.
Cars where stripped of their exteriors, entire sheets were nowhere to be found, even the tiniest scraps seemed to vanish under the cover of darkness.
The blonde racked his brain with ideas as he thought of what Soothsayer could be planning.
Is he...building something? For someone? To do what?
Well, maybe...a drill? Kane recalled the way Soothsayer had the civilians carve a large hole in the concrete. Maybe-
Kane stopped in his tracks abruptly as his eyes landed on a pair look f sleek, black boots in front of him. The boy's eyes trailed up sleek, black pants, a large, dark colored belt chained across an bare, flat stomach to a small, dark top, a large, black respirator mask, and a pair of pitch black eyes. All under a cover of a light, black cloak. Kane's breath hitched in his throat as that familiar feeling flooded through his body.
"I told you to stop looking for me." The blue haired boy breathed out sternly
"You can't get rid of me that easily." Kane answered
The two boys watched each other quietly as the bustling nightlife of Ninjago City moved on without them.
"Um...Is your- ah...your nose okay...?" The blonde asked awkwardly, to which, he received no reply
Kane fidgeted with his hands silently as he waited for Soothsayer's voice to break through the quiet night atmosphere. Still, he was unsure it ever would.
However, maybe he was mistaken. The blonde perked up as the boy across from him slowly reached up to his face and held his black mask in the palm of his hand before pulling off quietly to reveal the dark bruise that was spread across the bridge of his nose.
"Oh, shit..." Kane spoke with worry, inching closer to the other boy to examine his bruise
"I- I'm sorry man, I just-" Kane was silenced at once as Soothsayer grabbed his face up in his hand, squishing his cheeks together
Kane's brows furrowed in confusion as Soothsayer tilted his head up to the left.
"Um...?" The blonde muttered out between two squished lips
"Your neck." Soothsayer's low voice cut through the cold night air
"Oh..." Kane replied softly
"Disappointed?" A small smile bloomed onto Soothsayer's bruised face
"No..." Kane frowned as his cheeks flushed against his will
Soothsayer softly drew a gloved finger across the thin scar on Kane's neck. The scar left by his blade.
"...I suppose we both got carried away last night." Soothsayer's voice was deep and velvety as is floated through the air
"...Yeah, I suppose..." Kane replied as the villain let go of his face
"But this is my job, man." Kane continued. "My duty. I can't just...let you go..."
"I'm not asking you to." Soothsayer replied
