Currently, Rooh was situated in Zaviyaan's study at his request to retrieve a file, as they both waited in the dining room. Upon spotting the file, Rooh made her way to the dining hall without delay, considering the importance of not causing Zaviyaan to wait.
"Here you go, your file." she spoke while handing him the file, as he simply nodded in response.
"Go and fetch your bag, for I await you in the car." Zaviyaan instructed, causing an expression of surprise to spread across everyone's faces. Zaviyaan proceeded towards the porch, and Rooh prepared to depart when dado halted her.
"From where did you bring Zaviyaan's file, Rooh?" dado inquired cautiously.
"From his study, dado." she replied in a casual manner. Shabana couldn't believe her ears, yet she had witnessed Zaviyaan's request for Rooh to accompany him.
"Is he taking you to school for today?" she asked anxiously, fearing the response.
"Oh, dado, he drops me off every day." Rooh said with a beaming smile, entirely unaware of the concern she had caused in their hearts. After swiftly offering a quick salam, Rooh promptly departed from the dining room.
Upon receiving a horrified glance from Shabana, Zafer proceeded to delicately wipe the perspiration that had accumulated on his forehead using a tissue.
Without delay, Rooh promptly positioned herself on the backseat of the vehicle alongside Zaviyaan. As the driver initiated the car's motion, Rooh turned towards Zaviyaan and presented him with a Ferrero Rocher. Zaviyaan observed the chocolate and then directed his gaze towards Rooh. It had become customary for her to offer him a chocolate, which he would occasionally dissolve in his coffee—an act suggested by the diminutive creature, claiming it to be an exquisitely delightful experience. On other occasions, he would simply stow the chocolates away in his pocket.
Zaviyaan had come to realize that this petite human held a significance far greater than what was outwardly expressed. Consequently, for the first time in his existence, he found himself devising a birthday surprise for someone. With her 17th birthday merely three days away, he had made arrangements to take her to a museum, followed by a dinner, and finally concluding with a cake-cutting ceremony. However, life seldom adheres to our meticulously devised plans, does it?
A FEW HOURS LATER >
Upon Rooh's arrival at her residence, she diligently immersed herself in her academic duties. After completing her scholastic obligations, she descended the staircase to discover the presence of all the women in the living room, with the exception of Anabiya. As she approached their assemblage, an intense and distressing sensation manifested in her chest, prompting her to emit a piercing scream. Pashmeena and Khushboo promptly hastened towards her, swiftly bringing her closer to the couch and gently placing her upon it. Shabana tenderly rested Rooh's head upon her lap, while the concerned gathering persistently inquired about the cause of her abrupt distress.
"Bache kya hua aapko? Aap thik toh hain?" Pashmeena asked Khushboo cut her off and yelled at her,
"Pashmeena doctor ko phone karo jaldi." she had seen her son change in a good way since this girl had came into their lives she didn't want to lose him to darkness again.
Rooh felt her self slipping in an abyss and before she completely gave into the darkness she uttered a few words which all three of them heard clearly,
"Please .. please don't hurt Zaviyaan." All three of them stared at the girl who was now motionless on the couch.
They told the doctor about her condition on the phone and instructed them to bring her to the hospital immediately.
They were anxiously waiting in the hospital when Ali's call brought them yet another wave of shock. The women who had witnessed the events unfold before their eyes were filled with restlessness and exhaustion.
"Ami, bhai had an accident, but don't worry, he's okay. It's not a complicated issue, just a fracture in his leg and left arm," Ali said calmly.
"A fracture in his hand and leg, and you're saying it's not a problem!" she exclaimed.
"Mom, the other person involved in the accident is in the ICU and may not survive," Pashmeena gasped.
"Somehow, bhai's car skidded, and he was spared from major injuries," Pashmeena's eyes wandered towards Rooh, remembering the words she had spoken.
After almost an hour, Rooh regained consciousness and was discharged from the hospital. Back at home, she casually asked Dado, "Where is everyone, Dado?" trying not to mention Zaviyaan. Aware of her condition, she decided not to lie to her, but make it as subtle as possible.
"Wo Zaviyaan ki gaadi ka accident hogya tha , but he's okay now. tum tension naa lo or sojao." Rooh felt tears stinging her eyes she felt her soul leave her body. She wanted to see him.
Meanwhile Zaviyaan was in his ward checking some Emails on his phone with his one hand as the second was packed up in cement and bandages. ( yeah I call it cement.) He inquired of Ali regarding Rooh, as she was the sole individual who did not pay him a visit, all the while anticipating a furious reaction from her. To assert that he did not feel disillusioned would be disingenuous, yet his disappointment swiftly transformed into concern and unease when dado brought to his attention the incident involving Rooh. As predicted by dado, he was in a state of extreme distress, even attempting a futile escape in order to catch a glimpse of her. However, he failed to comprehend the implications she had already discerned, thereby exacerbating her apprehension for the times ahead.
Zaviyaan was preoccupied with thoughts of Rooh when his mobile device began emitting an audible notification sound, and a petite young girl appeared on the screen for a video call. Letting out a sigh of relief, he answered the call. As soon as Rooh caught sight of his face, she burst into tears, crying silently without uttering a word. Zaviyaan yearned to escape this distressing situation and embrace his strawberry, but his helplessness only fueled his growing anger.
"Rooh....kya hogya hai kyu ro rahi ho?" he asked her.
"Aaap. aapko . aapko dard horaha hai?" she asked hiccupping. His eyes softened no one cared about him like she did.
"Nahi Rooh ,maine numbness ka injection lga lia hai." he lied just to console her.
"Mujhe aapke pass aana hai please.." she pleaded with non stop tears. She was killing him.
"Rooh dekho raat kitni hogyi hai kal aajana, abhi tum araam karlo." he tried but who was he kidding.
"Nahi aap meri baat sunein Ali ko kahein mujh wha le aaye, warna mai khud aajaun gi." she said angrily still crying.
"Rooh zidd mat karo, go to sleep its almost midnight." he said sternly she remained unaffected.
"Ok mai khud aajaungi.." she wiped her eyes and started getting up fixed her scarf. Zaviyaan heaved a defeated sigh.
"Ruk jao , bejh ta hu mai Ali ko ." She smiled at him and gave him a flying kiss and disconnected the phone. When she realised what she'd done slapped herself on the forehead.
