( adj.) withered, incredibly exhausted.
"Why did you do that?"
Rooh inquired, her voice trembling as tears streamed down her face. Zaviyaan tenderly wiped away each tear with the pad of his thumb.
"If he believes he can simply approach you and ask for your hand in marriage, he is gravely mistaken. I will personally handle him for even entertaining such thoughts about you,
" Zaviyaan responded calmly. With his hand, he gently caressed a strand of her hair, bringing it close to his nose to savour the scent of her shampoo. He was utterly captivated by her fragrance.Rooh attempted to convey her thoughts to him calmly, saying,
"It doesn't make any sense. Eventually, I will have to get married, and besides, I will be turning eighteen in a month. In Pakistan, it is common to find a spouse and get married at this age."Upon hearing her words, Zaviyaan took a sharp breath, acknowledging the truth behind her statement. However, he refused to accept it. The mere thought of her leaving him was unbearable.
"Cease thinking about all of this, for as long as I am alive, no man will come near you," he declared with a sickening intensity.
"Don't you think you're being too selfish by getting married and not allowing me to do the same? Why, tell me, why are you doing all of this?" Rooh was outraged. First, the man she loved was marrying someone else and refusing to allow her to even try to go on. His behaviour was so contradictory that she had no notion of what to do."Rooh, try to understand, you're far too young for this."
Zaviyaan tried to argue with her, knowing full well that it would not succeed.
Because of how the scenario had turned out, he was feeling desperate and angry, and all he wanted was Rooh to stay by his side. He didn't want anyone near her, as horrible as it sounded. She was far too pure to be defiled in this way. But he knew she was correct; he was being self-centred, but what could he do?"You are the only one who believes I am too young. My parents, your family, and even I have differing viewpoints. I believe I am ready to find a partner, so please don't worry about me and concentrate on your wedding preparations." Rooh appeared to be irritated.
Zaviyaan pulled her even closer to himself,"What the fuck do you need a partner for? Am I not enough Rooh? I'll do everything you want me to. Baby please," Zaviyaan joined his forehead with hers, he sounded desperate and defeated. The thought of Rooh wanting to have a partner.
Zaviyaan drew her closer to himself. This idea of Rooh seeking a companion, He couldn't bear a view of her being with another man. She was his and his alone.
Rooh felt as if her insides were churning; she struggled to understand this man. Why was he acting this way? His behaviour was driving her to expose the wound she had decided to keep closed forever. But her time here was over, so it didn't matter. She was leaving nevertheless, so what did she have to lose? She took a big breath and separated herself from him. She fixed her gaze squarely on his.
"You can never give me what I want?" she mumbled.
Life was being squeezed out of Zaviyaan, he thought.
"Rooh, if it means giving up my life, I will grant you all your wishes. Surely you are aware of that." Affirming her was his attempt. Her lips curled into a smile, but her eyes were not adequately addressed.
"Okay then," She hesitated, and the words that came out of her mouth made him feel lightheaded.
"Just marry me then, Zaviyaan Haider."
With his eyes as wide as saucers, Zaviyaan's hold on her relaxed. To help himself feel more stable, he took a step back, which was arguably the most significant mistake of his life. Because there are moments when falling is preferable to standing. Now that Rooh was sobbing erratically, he was reminded of his surroundings by her broken sob.
His gaze then turned to the girl, who had a dejected expression. 'This is why she disappeared during his engagement,' everything began to make sense. What else had she endured as a result of him?
"See... the disgust on your face is how you responded,"
She sighed softly. Even though she was completely mistaken, he was at a loss for words.
Zaviyaan attempted to stop her as she turned to face the door and twisted the doorknob.
He cried out, "Rooh."
"I'll appreciate it if you try to keep your distance from me going forward," she said.
His spine tingled at the kind of glance she gave him. He experienced a heart-wrenching sensation when the door closed.
He hardly made it to his bed before he crashed on the surface. He whimpered and fisted his hair."What have I done?"
