I tried to stay calm as I walked into Tommy's room. I didn't want to seem like I was mad at him, because I wasn't. I just wanted to know why he didn't tell us. I walked in and saw his m writing some things down.
"Hey, Tommy." He quickly moved everything. I was suspicious.

"Hey, mama. What's up?" I sat on the bed.

"I just talked to an old friend of mine, Will Smith."

"The actor?"

"Yeah."

"H-How do y'all know each other?"

"We went to college together."

"Cool. Cool."

"Anyway, he called me to tell me some crazy stuff going on that affected your mother and I then he shared something very interesting."

"W-what?"

"He shared how his daughter just miscarried a baby she was going to have with the former quarterback of her school's football team."

"Hmmm. Mmmhmm. Interesting." I looked down and rubbed my hands together.

"Why you didn't tell us you got Willow pregnant?" He sighed.

"I was going to get right first. It was one of the things I thought about when I came back. When Bone and the guys said they had kids and the possibility of dying a sun leaving them alone in this world, it scared me. I didn't want that, so I started acting right. We talked about telling you guys. Her parents knew because she found out at the doctor's office. We were planning things."

"Like what?"

"She was going to go to college and I was going to keep the baby. I was going to get the money while she studied." I was shocked.

"So this whole time, you weren't going to college so that you could take care of the baby while she went to school?"

"Yeah. I didn't want her to miss out. Plus I wanted to be around just in case her dummy of an ex boyfriend tried to come for her."

"Then what was all that acting out about?"

"Oh I was acting out, but I still wanted to do those things for her. I never expected this to happen." I saw something in him. Similar to a heartbreak. He was mourning.

"So, how are you two dealing with it?"

"I'm mostly making sure she's okay. We're still friends and I want her to feel better."

"Oh, so y'all aren't dating?"

"No. We tried for a little and realized we were going to be better as co parents and friends."

"That's nice. I like that you're making sure she's okay."

"Yeah." I sighed. "I'm happy she can go for her goals though and she won't be teased in school. Those are pluses."

"True." It was silent for a second then I remembered when I first came in here. "What were you working on?"

"Oh, nothing." He chuckled. "Just something I was playing around with."

"Let me see." He grabbed it and shyly handed it over. I looked at it and saw it was a poem. "Nice."

"Thanks. It's just something I play around with."

"No, it's really good. You should think about taking a few writing classes. This could be something you do."

"Writing? Naw, that ain't my thing."

"Well, this says different. Just think about it." I got up when my I got a text message. "But I'll leave you to whatever you were doing. I'm here for you, okay." He nodded. "Good." I left out and looked at my phone. The text was for Will.
