"Okay, babies. Mommy loves you." Janet hugged the kids as Joey was here to take them to school. It was the first day and Janet, of course, was emotional."We love you too, mom." Josiah patted her back.
"Okay. Okay. I'm done now." She wiped her face. Then she looked at the girls and cried again. "Oh." She hugged them. They looked at me. I just gestured for them to hug her back.
"It's okay, mom."
"I know. Don't let the sixth grade girls be mean to you."
"Okay, mom."
"Good. Good." They all turned to leave. She watched them leave out the door. "Love you!" They turned around and she waved. They waved back before getting in the car. She watched the car go down the street and cried again.
"I know, baby." I hugged her.
"Why's mom crying?" Tommy came in and asked.
"Your siblings just went to school." He and TJ looked confused until TJ realized and whispered to Tommy.
"Oh. Let's go in here." They turned to go into the living room, but Janet stopped them.
"No, it's fine. I'm fine. Let's go do something."
"What?" The boys asked.
"Yeah. Go get your stuff. I'll be back." Janet went upstairs and the boys looked at me.
"Mama."
"Your mother is at a very sensitive point in her pregnancy. Her regular emotions are tripled by the increase of hormones."
"Well, you know, I can't go because ummm....I umm...she's mad at me, remember?" said Tommy.
"No, she's not. Y'all have been good since that talk."
"Well, I have college planning and stuff and Tommy has that job thing." said TJ. I chuckled.
"Let me explain something to you about your mother. She has her mind set on spending time with you two and it will happen." They looked scared. "What's wrong?"
"She's super scary when she's emotional. It's really scary." said Tommy.
"I know, but be happy it's the good one and not when she angry." They put their shoes on and grabbed their phones and keys. Janet came back downstairs with a big smile.
"Okay, let's go." She went to the garage. The boys looked at me and I pointed for them to go. They held their heads down and went behind Janet. I laughed to myself.
I ran upstairs and started getting some things ready for when she gets back. Shockingly, with everything going on, Janet and I haven't been able to do what we do best and honestly both of us were feening like crazy. So since the kids will be at school until three and the boys will probably be hiding away when they get back, it was perfect for us to get back to what we love.
I finished setting things up and decided to go back downstairs. It was nothing special, I cleaned up and put a few candles around. Luckily we have black out curtains so, I can make the energy in the room the way she likes it. I'd light the candles and set the lights when she got back. I also decided we'd take a little bath. She loves that.
I decided that I wanted to get Janet some of her favorite candies, so I got my car keys and headed out. I drove down our driveway towards the gate. This is the only thing I did and didn't like about our house. This driveway was long as hell. But Janet wanted seclusion, so whatever mama wants mama gets. I pulled out, passed the gate and noticed a moving truck across the road. Hmm. I wonder who was moving in. Honestly, I didn't care because we rarely ran into our neighbors because of how private our house was. No one else in the neighborhood had this type of setup. It costs way too much. Not bragging or anything.
