Third Person
"Well, what's her name?" Miyah asked with folded arms."Grace." Tommy continued to get dressed.
"Where you meet her at?" asked Lia.
"We went to school together and now she works at your school."
"Mmm. I don't know how I feel about this."
"Exactly. She just popped up out of the blue." said Miyah.
"That's how these things work." said Tommy.
"Are you sure? Because you knew about Lolade before I liked her like that but we don't know Grace."
"How do we know she's not a bad person?"
"Because she's not."
"Hmm. Does mommy know?"
"No." Lia and Miyah looked at each other before running out of Tommy's room. He ran after them and caught them as they were about to go through the sliding door into the living room. "And y'all aren't going to tell her."
"Oh, you lying to mom again."
"It's not lying."
"So it's a secret. Mama says secrets kill. So that means you're gonna die." Lia shook her head at him. He grabbed them both my the back of their shirts and picked them up.
"Put us down!"
"Stop it!"
"I'm telling, mom!" He sat them on the couch.
"Don't tell her nothing. I'm going to tell her, just not yet. Give me some time."
"What if she's a bad person, Tommy?" asked Miyah. Now it made sense to Tommy. His sisters cared about what happened to him.
"She's not. She's a good person." They looked up at him and his heart pounded hard. He sat between them. "Look, she's a good person and she wouldn't hurt me."
"She better not, because mama taught us how to fight while you were gone and we will pummel her." said Lia. Tommy chuckled.
"I got you. Now, I gotta go." He kissed both of their cheeks. "Love y'all."
"Love you too." Tommy grabbed his car keys and left out. The girls felt a little better after Tommy reassured them that he'd be okay, so they went up to their rooms and decided to play some games. Tommy drove to Grace's house with a warm feeling from the interaction with his sisters, especially Miyah. She's always been closer to TJ, so for her to show so much concern for him was really nice.
Speaking of TJ, while things were going great for his siblings at home, he was having kind of a hard time at school. "Come on, TJ. Just do it." One of TJ's suitemates pushed his shoulder.
"I don't know, man. I don't think we should be doing this." He stood in front of the girls' dorm building.
"Come on. It's just for fun. If we don't get them first then they'll get us. Just throw it." One of the other guys held up his phone while he recorded. "Don't be a pussy, man."
"But..." he looked up and felt bad. "....they didn't do anything man and this can really..."
"Boy you such a wimp. I don't know why they put me with your punk ass."
"We could get into trouble and I worked really hard to get here."
"Yeah, right. We saw your car, we know your parents are paying for this."
"No, they're not. I got a full scholarship and I'm not messing it up. Here." He handed the bag to his suite mate. "I'm out of here." TJ walked away.
"Man, you such a punk. We should've roomed with Mason when he said it.
