Mattheo picked up the books from around them and kept them on the bedside table and Draco put the comforter over them. Draco locked eyes with Mattheo and smirked. Realizing what Draco was envisioning, Mattheo also broke out a small smile. Muttering a spell under his breath, Mattheo enlarged the bed. Draco and Mattheo climbed in next to their mates, falling into a deep sleep. The next day, when the four of them woke up; Dahlia explained the events of the previous day to Mattheo and Draco while Harry was taking a bath. Needless to say, they were both livid! Draco and Mattheo couldn't contain their anger at the audacity of Dumbledore's invasion into Harry's mind. Their fists clenched at their sides, and their eyes blazed with fury. They were ready to storm into Dumbledore's office and demand answers, to protect Harry at all costs.
Coming out of the bathroom, Harry realized what was happening. He took a deep breath, trying to quell the storm of emotions swirling within him. He had seen enough drama and conflict in his life.
"I know you're angry, and I am too, but acting out won't solve anything," Harry said, his voice surprisingly calm despite the turmoil in his heart.
Draco and Mattheo looked at Harry, their eyes softening slightly at his composed demeanour. They knew that he was right.
"We should focus on learning Occlumency," Dahlia replied.
"If I can protect my mind, I can prevent anyone from invading my memories and thoughts." Added Harry
Draco and Mattheo exchanged a nod. They settled into a circle, ready to begin their intense training.
Throughout the day, they took turns teaching Harry different aspects of Occlumency.
"Harry, when you're blocking out unwanted thoughts, try visualizing a strong fortress in your mind, impenetrable to any intruders," Mattheo suggested, her eyes alight with determination.
Draco added, "And focus on your emotions. Occlumency requires emotional control, so don't let your anger or fear overpower you."
Harry closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and attempted to follow Draco's guidance. The room seemed to fade away as he delved deep within himself, struggling to shut out the whirlwind of memories and feelings that threatened to distract him.
After a few failed tries, they decided to take a break. Occlumency wasn't something that you can master in a day.
Dahlia decided to make Harry some notes. She quilled down (the magical phrase for – she penned down. I suppose) the basic tips and tricks she remembered on a piece of parchment. This had helped her when she started learning and she hoped that it would be of help to Harry as well.
1. Break eye contact: In case you are faced with a situation where you get an inkling of the fact that you are about to be attacked, make sure that you are not holding eye contact with the person. Try to be in a position where the attacker cannot see your head.
2. Clear Your Mind: Before attempting any Occlumency techniques, take a few moments and deep breaths to clear your mind of any thoughts or emotions. This will create a blank canvas for you to build your mental defences.
3. Start Small: Begin with simple exercises to get a feel for the process. Practice blocking out minor distractions before moving on to more significant challenges.
