Around forty-five minutes later, Draco re-entered the guest room where Harry lay napping. With a soft and affectionate smile, he leaned down and brushed his lips against Harry's, gently waking him from his peaceful rest."Harry," Draco whispered, "it's time to leave."
Harry stretched and yawned, rubbing his eyes as he sat up. "How long has it been?"
Draco checked his watch and replied, "It's been just over 45 minutes. We have much to do, my love."
After Harry freshened up, Draco discreetly applied glamours to both of them, altering their appearances to avoid drawing unwanted attention. They left the Gaunt Manor and headed for Diagon Alley, each with a specific mission to fulfil.
Arriving at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, Harry quickly located the Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder and purchased seven galleons' worth. The vividly coloured shop was bustling with customers, each seeking pranks and products from Fred and George Weasley's renowned establishment.
As Harry left the store, he found himself considering the twin brothers who had been instrumental in bringing humour to the wizarding world during times of darkness.
Meanwhile, Draco reached Borgin and Burkes, a shop that exuded an aura of the macabre. He entered and inquired about the Hand of Glory and the Vanishing Cabinet. The items were acquired without fuss, and after making the purchases, Draco exited the eerie shop, finding solace in the familiar, winding streets of Diagon Alley.
With the Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder secured, Harry made his way back to Malfoy Manor.
Meanwhile, Draco successfully acquired the Hand of Glory and the Vanishing Cabinet from Borgin and Burkes. He was meticulous in his approach, ensuring that he left no room for suspicion. As he exited the store with his purchases, he was filled with a sense of accomplishment and purpose.
Returning to the manor, Draco found Harry who had just arrived as well. They shared a brief moment of reassurance, their hands intertwining as they glanced at their respective purchases.
Draco was ready to share the idea he had about keeping the Order at bay. He led Harry to the library, where he had found the book that contained the key to his strategy. Draco searched for the page he had bookmarked in his mind. After a thorough search, Draco's finger landed on the page with the incantation they needed. It was a ward-like spell, powerful and selective, and it would serve as an additional layer of protection.
Draco explained, "This spell, once cast around the location where we corner Dumbledore, will create a protective barrier. Only someone with the Dark Mark, like the Death Eaters, will be able to pass through it. It should keep members of the Order at bay."
Harry nodded in agreement, recognizing the brilliance of Draco's idea. They began to practice the incantation, working together to ensure they could cast it seamlessly when the time came. As they practised, the room was filled with the hum of magical energy, their focus unwavering.
With each repetition, the spell became easier to cast, and Harry and Draco felt a growing sense of confidence in their ability to execute it flawlessly.
With their practice complete, Harry and Draco made their way to Draco's room. Their earlier excitement for the mission had gradually transformed into a sense of calm determination. Their earlier excitement for the mission had gradually transformed into a warm and fuzzy determination. They knew that the challenges that lay ahead would require them to be well-rested and prepared.
