Family Dinner

Carrick
Aww the family dinner every man's nightmare and mothers dreams. I wait and watch as our children are all being interrogated by my very loving wife about when they will get married and give us grandchildren. I am unsure whether to feel sorry for them or tell them that they need to think about their future when it comes to family. Mia is ignoring everything sending and receiving messages. Her mother takes her phone away from her and then the boys phones. Mine is in my office. Mia still lives at home and basically just shops, eats and parties. She brings nothing to any table. So that is where Grace starts. It turns out that the Kavanagh family hired a company to actually help them with their very spoiled lazy twin girls. Ethan was never like his sisters in the fact he is now a psychiatrist with a great practice. Anyway she wants to hire them and discuss changing the way we deal with Mia. That got Mia's attention and she told us that she knows about how those people treated Kate and Karen and she wouldn't even meet them.

Grace
I hand Carrick the information and he can call Eamon about what they were able to do with the twins. I see Christian and Elliott cringe at the owners names. I am sure both my sons know one or more in a carnal way. That doesn't stop them from being good at this. They have ten offices throughout  Washington and they are about to expand again.

Christian
Well this is up to you but we are talking Mia here and she is used to being spoiled.

Grace
That's the problem so we're the Kavanagh twins and they are different ask Mia. I guess they cut off all financial support and they force them to get a job and they also learn to take care of themselves by cleaning after themselves and cooking and grocery shopping and what normal people do everyday.

Mia
I like being spoiled. Mom gets up and finds my bag and takes all my credit and debit cards out of my wallet and the three thousand dollars I have to go partying with tonight.

Carrick
Why are you carrying three thousand dollars around with you? I want to know where you got that money from? Both Elliott and Christian look guilty. Okay you two are no longer allowed to give her any money, because she wastes it on her stupid friends who have started expecting her to pay for everything after all her brothers are very wealthy and they expect the royal treatment. Mia they aren't real friends if they are with you just because you pick up the tabs everywhere. No more freebies at your brothers restaurants for you or your friends. You will not be using credit cards or credit lines supplied by anyone but yourself. Grace let's get that company involved in this matter.

Elliott
I wink at Mia, but mom and dad catch it and tell me that I am not allowed to spoil her any longer and she will be held to that agreement.

Grace
We call the company and an appointment is set for Monday morning and they will have contracts ready for us based on our individual circumstances. Elliott and Christian are going to be present and sign their own contracts assuring they won't help Mia or her friends in anyway. No money, no credit cards, no bank accounts and no help at all from either of them. She has to do her own cleaning and cooking and washing her own things and take her things to the dry cleaners. She can use her car for going to work or school and no where else.

Carrick
They arrive and are ready to go over the contracts with all of us and explain just how it works and it is a two year process at least. It didn't take two years for the spoiling so hopefully if everyone does as asked and she learns faster how to be self reliant and won't fall into her same bad behaviors. I definitely like this idea and it has worked. I am hoping it helps all of us. Mia is resistant until her trust fund and other privileges were threatened. We all read the contracts and all have to sign and agree to the terms that they have written out. Violating the agreements will cause Mia to lose her trust fund little by little. Every time her brothers violate the contract they cause her losses if she accepts the help. We finally agree on what they are planning to do. Mia will move into the pool house and start working on her goals. She will learn everything she needs to without help.

Grace
I watch as Mia is shown how to pack her things up to move to the pool house and grocery shopping and everything she needs to cook and clean. She doesn't look like my daughter after a week. She is cooking and cleaning and washing her clothing along with going to the dry cleaners. She has a job as well. She has to earn money to live on. They let her have a minimal amount and take portions for rent and utilities leaving her with money for groceries, gas, insurance, rent, utilities cleaning supplies. She has to create a budget and stick to it. I want to go rescue her but I wouldn't be helping her at all. Her phones are only to be used for emergency purposes. On her budget she can't afford a phone on her own.

A couple of weeks later her friends drop by, of course they want her to pay for lunch and she tells them that she can't because she is on a budget and her income can't cover it.

Mia
I can't believe they wanted me to blow my whole paycheck on some lunch that barely feeds one person. I tell them I can go if someone pays for my meal. They say we can go to your brothers restaurants and eat for free. I tell them we can't and they can't any longer either. Apparently they tried to get freebies without me and they were charged and had to pay for the meals. They tried to get me to go shopping and I told them all my credit accounts were closed.

Dana Andrews
I listen and I ask if Mia and her family hired a company that trains spoiled children to become adults and she says yes. Kate and Karen told me all about them. They are still under the contract and you can't believe how clean they keep their apartment now. Photos were taken of how it was and how they keep it everyday. I show her both photos.

Savannah Lewis
I refused to go over to their apartment because they lived worse than lazy frat boys. They waited for the cleaning crews to clean up their messes. They were nearly kicked out of the apartment and mom and dad hired the company and they still have a year and a half on their contracts and both are gainfully employed. I wished mom and dad would hire them for my cousins. They make the spoiled person do everything, they just tell them how to do things for themselves.
