Part 24

"James, love, you did wonderfully!" Remus yelled over the crowd.

"Thanks, Moons!" James screamed back.

Gryffindor had won the match against Hufflepuff, with James catching the snitch, setting them 500 points ahead.

"That was amazing, my darling." Regulus pushed his way to James.

James swept Regulus up, kissing him fiercely, not caring who saw.

"I'm glad you came. Even though your astronomy map thingie is due soon."

"James, I wouldn't have missed this for the world." Regulus felt his feet finally hit the ground as James let him down gently.

"Coming for the party tonight?" James asked, lacing his hands with Regulus's.

"Absolutely."

"Wonderful. Now, I smell like a locker room, so I am going to go shower."

"Thank you. I'll see you later, my darling."

It was after midnight, and the party was still full of drunk party-goers.

"Wanna see a party trick?" Sirius stumbled to Regulus and his friends, James in tow.

"Do we?" Evan asked dryly.

"Shake!" Sirius cried, turning to James with his arms up.

Lifting Sirius, James shook him up and down, then side to side. And suddenly, Sirius was illuminated.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" Barty shouted.

"Why is my brother glowing?" Regulus rubbed his forehead.

"I swallowed a flashlight." Sirius blinked.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!" Regulus yelled.

"For fun?" Sirius smiled.

"You're an idiot." Regulus stalked away.

"No you," Sirius laughed drunkenly.

"They aren't fighting anymore?" Evan whispered to Barty.

"I guess not. I think Sirius is just too drunk to think clearly," Barty replied.

"If anyone can hold their liquor, it's the Black's. Well, and Remus and James for some reason." Evan shook his head in response.

"Hold my drink, I'm going to the toilet." Barty shouldered through the crowd.

"Where's your boyfriend?" Pandora sidled up to her twin brother.

"He's not my boyfriend, Panda." Evan groaned, kicking her gently.

"Have you told him that?" Pandora wiggled her eyebrows.

"FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!" A chant settled over the crowd like a curse.

"Fuck." Pandora bounced off, pushing to the centre of the crowd.

Lily punched a Ravenclaw beater in the face, sending him into the front of the circle of people.

He ran at her with his full force, but his bulk was no match for her agility. Lily bounced aside, his body hitting the floor where she had been moments before.

"Give up?" Lily asked, clearly very bored.

"You're a disgusting freak!" He shouted at her, raising his hand.

James caught his fist in the air, spinning the smaller Ravenclaw boy to face him.

"Hi!" James smiled, watching the fear creep into the other boy's face. "Rethinking your choices?"
