Felix pov~

After the sun was low in the sky, we reached the village. It had two outposts at the front gates. We walked up to the gates and were stopped by two guards.

"Stop, state your business," one of them commanded rudely. I walked forward a bit.

"We are here to rest some from our journey," I stated vaguely, hoping he didn't ask more questions. He glanced at the other guard, and they both nodded. The guards both hit the gate twice to tell the others above to open it.

"Welcome to the Feline village of werecats. Do not cause trouble," one of the guards announced as the gate slowly opened. I looked at Steven and Aurora. They were both grining. We walked into the village and saw many different cats. There was a leopard chasing a bobcat, playing tag, I guess. Many people were in their half forms. Their cat ears, whiskers, eyes, claws, teeth, and tails showing.

"Wow," Steven said in awe, "I have never seen so many cats before, only some traders that came through the village," he continued as he looked at everyone. Aurora huffed and folded her arms from on his head. "BUT, you are still the coolest Aurora," Steven quickly corrected himself, trying not to upset his friend. She just grumbled some. I smiled at their interactions. I glanced around and then found what I was looking for.

"Let's go to that inn and get a room," i suggested pointing towards it, "thenn," I drawed out, "we can go look around," I said excitedly.

"Sounds like a good plan to me," Steven replied happily, and Aurora hummed in agreement. I turned forward, and we headed to the inn.

The inside of the inn was a little loud, with at least 20 people in there. A middle-aged lady with brown hair with blonde streaks came up to us.

"The names Janett. Can I help you handsome," she purred, her slanted green eyes gleaming mischievously. She leaned on me some, and I could feel my ears turning red.

"Um, a... uh.. room please," I stampered out, flustered by her closeness. I glanced at Steven, and he was trying not to laugh at me.

"Can do, would you like some.. room service," she answered, then said the last words slowly as she looked me up and down. I could feel my face instantly go red at her words.

"Jus.. just the room, please," I responded, stumbling over my words and backing away from her. She smiled at me and then walked behind the counter. "You could have helped me," I hissed at Steven quietly, and he began to silently laugh. I glared daggers at him. The lady came back with a key.

"Here you are," she said as she gave me the key to our room. "I like tall men, so if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask for the cougar," she purred and turned around, walking away, swaying her hips as she went. I ripped my gaze away from her and looked at the ground.

"Cats sure are flirty, especially that cougar," I mumbled quietly, feeling my face finally start to cool down.

Steven and Aurora started to laugh beside me. I glared at them and grabbed Steven's arm, dragging him upstairs and to the rooms. I glanced at the key for our number, then unlocked that door and entered.

"Will you both stop laughing," I growled at them, and they stopped but still giggled some. I lay on one of the beds.

"Sorry Felix, but that was absolutely hilarious," Steven chuckled, smiling at me. "That feline really liked you," he continued as he smiled widely. If looks could kill, Steven and Aurora would have died three times in the past few minutes. Aurora flew over to me and landed on my shoulder, then patted my cheek.

"Well, let's go look outside before it turns completely dark," I sighed and sent a smile to Aurora. I took her off my shoulder and set her on the window edge as I got up. We set down our bags and headed out. As I went through the inn, the cougar saw me and winked towards me. My face heated up some, and I quickly looked away and walked faster to the door.

"Let's split up and try to find some info on the vampires," Steven suggested as we stopped outside of the inn.

"Good idea," I responded, nodding in agreement. We both walked in separate directions.

I walked along the path and looked at all the homes. For some reason, they all had jars sitting in front of them. I continued to look around and then stumbled as two kittens ran in between my legs. I looked back at them and laughed as they ran off.

"Do you need help with something," a female voice said beside me, and I jumped a little. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," she giggled. I looked down at a half shifted girl, a little older than me. She had blonde hair with blue eyes.

"Oh, I was just exploring," I responded nervously. She nodded her head, looking up at me with her slanted blue eyes.

"Well, my name is donna," she cheerfully told me and held out her hand. I smiled at her and took it.

"I am Felix," I said as I shook her hand. We held them for a moment, then awkwardly let go. "I was wondering if there have been any sight of.. vampires," I asked hesitantly.  Her cheerful face fell for a moment, and then she smiled up at me. Is she hiding something?

"No, I don't think so," she chuckled out, a hint of nervousness in her tone. I frowned and stared at her. She began to shift from foot to foot. "Well, i.. uh.. need to go," she quickly stated and shifted into a lion, running off.

"Wait," I called out, but she had already run out of sight. Something is definitely wrong here, I need to find Steven. Maybe he has been lucky with the felines. I sighed and began to look for Steven, though I felt eyes watching me from somewhere.

(Hehehehe, sorry I had to add the were-cougar, I really hope y'all know what that term is.)
