Felix pov~
I twisted my neck around, making it pop so i could get the crick out of it. It was now midday, but we were only halfway there. The ritual would only be at night because they were vampires. We would reach the place by night fall.
"I was hopping we would get there before nightfall, but at this rate, we will not," I huffed, and Steven sighed beside me.
"I know, and we can not go any faster," he responded tiredly. I glanced at him and Aurora. They both looked tired. Steven's flaps were getting weaker, and Aurora was faltering in the air. I was still fine. I glanced at my size, which was now twice that of my human form.
"I think I could carry the two of you," I suggested to them, and they exchanged looks. Steven shrugged his shoulders and flew above my back and slowly landed on me. I didn't feel too much of a difference. Aurora flew over me and sat next to Steven on my back, holding onto my feathers. I had to adjust my flight some with her on, but I could easily carry them.
"That is much better," Steven sighed happily as he lay down on my back. I chuckled at him and tilted myself slightly, then felt him quickly dig his talons in me to avoid falling.
"Haha ow," I laughed out and heard him huff behind me. "Now make sure to hold on tight and lay low," I instructed them and turned my head to look back at them. They both nodded, and Aurora lay lower on my back. I nodded and faced forward again. I quickened my speed now that I didn't need to wait for them.
Many hours later
I was a little bit tired after all those hours of flying, and now the sun was near the horizon. I started to fly lower so as to not attract attention. There was a high mountain ahead of me, and if the map was right, past it was the castle.
I took a deep breath and started flying up the mountain. When I neared the top, I slowed down and landed just below it. I walked the rest of the way and looked over the mountain.
There it was, the castle.
"How are we going to get in there," Aurora gasped. We all looked on in doubt at the hundreds of guards everywhere. They got off of my back and slid to the ground, I put down all of our bags. Steven and I shifted back into our human forms. I scratched the top of my head, ruffling my blue hair.
"I guess we could wait till the masters come out and just attack," I sighed and sat on the ground tiredly. I covered my face with my hands, stressed, not knowing what to do. I felt Steven lay his hand on my shoulder and pat it.
"We can do this, we still have an hour to rest and think," Steven assured me and sat down beside me. I let my hands fall into my lap and nodded my head slowly. Aurora sat down in front of us and smiled.
"So let's start brainstorming," she stated calmly. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly to de-stress myself.
"Ok, let's do this," I agreed as I looked between them. "Best to start off with listing our assets," I suggested with a gesture of my hand. "I have fire, some wind, ground fighter.. size," I listed as I counted on my fingers. I looked over to Steven, making him hum in thought.
"I have fly fighting, wind, speed, and that is it," he sighed sadly and looked down, disappointed in himself.
"Hey, that is still good. No one can do wind magic better than you," I comforted him, and he nodded his head. We looked to Aurora, and she hummed.
"Well, I have some healing, nature, earth, and some wind," she slowly explained and looked between us. I nodded and stared blankly at the ground in thought.
"Steven could sneak in closer and spy on them, telling us when he spots my mom," I began, "then he could delay them by making a strong wind blow through and we will come and sneak in," I proposed with gestures from my hands. Steven nodded his head in agreement.
"And then Aurora could make a wall of earth around the area and stop anything from reaching us," Steven continued, his eyes gleaming mischievously. Aurora hummed, then jumped in.
"Felix will jump on one of the ritual holders stopping the ritual," she added with a smile. I thought on it more and smiled at my newer thought.
"Aurora then will trap another of the masters with her vines and kill him at the same time Steven will make a tornado to suck in the other two," I explained excitedly to them and they looked like they were in.
"Then you will swoop up your mother and quickly put her in your bag, then burn as much as you can," Steven jumped in, waving around his hands.
"And we fly into the air, then I make the vines on the castle walls grow more. Felix can throw the biggest fire ball he can, and the vines will catch the place on fire more," Aurora proudly suggested as her wings moved in excitement.
"I think we have a plan," I stated with a smile and looked at them. They both nodded happily. I put a hand in the middle of us. "We can do this," I said firmly. Steven put his hand on mine and nodded in agreement. Aurora put hers on Steven's and hummed. We threw our hands in the air and smiled widely at one another.
I looked at the sun and saw it was almost all the way below the horizon, covering the land in a dim light. We got up and began to prepare. But first, we ate a meal of honey apples to give us energy through the night.
