(A/N I've been trying to place actual events of the original series into this story, and I've decided to have Y/A/N not go to the mountains to help the Tribe of Rushing Water. Also, if anyone's wondering about a more book specific timing, I'm putting Y/A/N joining Thunderclan roughly around Dark River, which is Book 2 in the Power of Three series. This chapter is taking place during the sun-drown-place trip, so we're now going to be in Book 3, Outcast lol. Sorry for anyone who wanted more in-depth into their training, but I don't know how I was going to word it. I also realize I'm skipping your first gathering, so I'm sorry. Maybe at some point in the future I will do something kind of reminiscing with the gap of time)

It had been a few moons since Y/A/N had been welcomed into Thunderclan. She loved being with the clan and was having fun learning how to hunt and fight with Brightheart. She had also, in her opinion, gotten closer to Jaypaw, although the blind tom would never admit it. Y/A/N was currently on a hunting patrol with Brightheart, Berrynose, and Ashfur. They had already caught a few pieces of prey and were just seeing if they find anything else before heading back. After a bit, the patrol decided they would head back, grab their previous catches, and head back to the hollow.

As the patrol was heading back, Y/A/N noticed some movement in a bush, She stopped and Brightheart noticed, stopping a little bit up ahead and asking "What's up, Y/A/N? See some prey?' "I think so. I got it, you guys can go back. I'll catch up" She said. Brightheart pondered for a bit then nodded. "Be careful Y/A/N" She said. "Aren't I always?" The apprentice jokes, and stalked through the undergrowth as the rest of the patrol left. She went up to where she saw the movement and went around the bush. There was a small clearing and she could see more movement on the other side of the bush. Y/A/N dropped into a hunters crouch and waited for the prey to come out.

She waited for a couple moments until it emerged, and Y/A/N realized that it was prey. It was a small fox, and Y/A/N ducked down even lower, and her heart started pounding. A fox?! What is a fox doing here?  She thought. Y/A/N compilated just backing up, but then saw that the fox wasn't that big, and was pretty skinny. Maybe I can drive it out myself  She thought. Can't be too hard with a fox like this, right?  Y/A/N figured. She changed her position into a fighting crouch, and stalked out.

The fox perked its head up and looked at the she-cat, and began growling. Y/A/N circled around so that she drive it to the border that didn't have another clan border. She stalked towards the fox, hackles raised and hissing. The fox slowly backed away, unsure if it should try fighting. But it stopped and decided to test it, and would move any further so Y/A/N swiped at its muzzle, nicking it in the nose. The fox hissed and back up a bit more, hissing. Y/A/N tried to move towards it further, but the fox decided to return the swipe, getting Y/A/N right along the right side of her face, making a deep mark. Y/A/N hissed herself and flinched, but held her ground. Seeing the cat unwavering, the fox cut its losses and turned around, running away. Y/A/N gave chase until she confirmed that the fox had left Thunderclan territory.

Once the fox was gone, Y/A/N turned back and headed towards the hollow. She only noticed how bad her injury was now, the pain being a bit much for her. But that didn't stop the apprentice from seeing a vole, something that was actually prey, and quickly catching it. She finally made it to the entrance, and the cat sitting on guard, Sorraltail, looked at her. "Y/A/N?! What in Starclans name happened?" She asked, looking at Y/A/Ns muzzle. "Oh, uh, I found a fox?" She said. Sorreltail blinked at her "A fox?! Where is it now?!" She asked, quite concerned for the apprentice. "It left the territory. It's long gone" Sorreltail still looked at her in concern "Well, let's take you to Leafpool. You really need it" Y/A/N nodded, and Sorreltail took the vole from her. "You go straight to the medicine cat den, I'll drop this at the fresh-kill pile" The apprentice nodded as she padded across the clearing, getting a ton of concerned looks from her clanmates.

It's wrong, but she is mine! (Jayfeather X Female Reader)Where stories live. Discover now
