The Thunderclan cats were headed to the gathering, the full moon shining bright in the sky. The cats padded along the lake, through Windclan territory. As they were approaching the edge of Windclan's territory, Y/A/N could see the Windclan cats that were headed to the Gathering. Firestar nodded to the patrol, and exchanged greetings with Onestar.  Onstar dipped his head and allowed Thunderclan to go ahead. The cats padded by Windclan, each giving their own greetings to the Windclan cats. Thunderclan passed by and both clans headed to the island for the gathering. Thunderclan made it to the tree bridge just as Shadowclan was crossing it. The Thunderclan cats waited until Shadowclan was on the island before crossing themselves.

Once every cat was in the clearing of the island, every cat went to mingle as Riverclan hadn't quite arrived yet, despite being closer than Shadowclan was. Y/A/N sat near some Thunderclan warriors, unsure of who she would talk to. This was only her second gathering, and the first time she had sat with Hollypaw and Lionpaw, as Y/A/N hadn't attended the same gathering that Jaypaw had. But currently the three siblings were in the mountains, so Y/A/N was just listening to the warriors gossip.

Soon enough, Riverclan joined the gathering and Firestar declared that it was officially starting, and the leaders took their places on the large tree. Leopardstar went first, just saying that prey was running pretty well and a small injury with an apprentice. Each leader went and said similar things, that prey was running well and other common things. They didn't mention the cats that journeyed to the mountains, probably because it was well-known already. However, Firestar did mention Y/A/N driving the fox away, and she was appraised by all the cats there, which made her pelt heat up in embarrassment. She shrunk down a bit as the appraisal died down. Soon after the gathering was dismissed, and the cats returned to their own clan camps. Once Thunderclan had returned to the hollow, Y/A/N went to her nest and curled up in it, passing out.

(A/N I actually don't know if there was a full moon during the journey to the mountains, but screw it, this is my story and I'm going with there was. And that's after about 20 min of looking through articles and story bits from the original series trying to find an answer lmao)

The next night was when the cats who journeyed from the mountains had finally come home. Y/A/N didn't realize it until she woke up, and saw Hollypaw and Lionpaw in their nests as she left the apprentice den. They're finally back!  She thought happily. She couldn't wait to see Jaypaw again, having missed talking to the blind tom. But despite her excitement, she didn't go to the medicine cat den as she figured they returned late, not having seen them enter before she went to sleep. Y/A/N went into the clearing, and Brightheart met her there. Y/A/N ended up doing more fighting training and did some hunting for Mousefur and Longtail.

By the time she had gotten back to the hollow, it was well past sunhigh, and all cats were awake, including the ones who went on the journey. Y/A/N carried some fresh-kill she caught over to the elders den, and when she approached, Mousefur and Longtail were outside, talking to Toadkit and Rosekit. They were intrigued by the old forest stories as Y/A/N dropped the prey at Mousefurs paw. "Here you go Mousefur, for you and Longtail" She said. Mousefur dipped her head. "Thank you Y/A/N. Now, as I was saying-" The elder said, going back to her story. Y/A/N smiled and padded over to the medicine cat den, but didn't even have to enter as Jaypaw was leaving it as she made it to the entrance.

"Jaypaw!" She called out, and the blind tom looked over in her direction. "Oh hey Y/A/N. Do you need something?" He asked. "No, can't I just come to talk to my friend?" The she-cat replied, padding right up to the tom. "I guess so, but if you wanna talk to me then you're helping me look for herbs before it gets dark." He said, then looked right at Y/A/Ns face and started scenting. Y/A/N felt her pelt heat up "What are you doing? Is something wrong?" She asked. Jaypaw sniffed her muzzle. "When did you get your muzzle all scratched up? I don't remember you doing anything before I left" Y/A/N sighed and smiled "Well, remember when Hollypaw told me about the time when you guys went fox hunting as kits?" "Uh yeah, why? Did you hunt for a fox yourself now?" "Not intentionally, but I did find one, and successfully drove it out of Thunderclan territory." She said proudly. "Well, it seems like it got you good too. But it is pretty much healed up, so I guess there's nothing to worry about" The blind tom said.

Unfortunately for Y/A/N, Poppypaw happened to be passing the two and overheard their conversation. "You might wanna rethink that Jaypaw" She said, and Y/A/N glared at the other she-cat as Jaypaw asked "Why?" "Well, she did drive the fox out, but she got cut pretty deep. But instead of immediately returning to the hollow, she decided to take some more time to hunt. By the time she did come back, her muzzle had quite a bit of blood on it. She made a lot of cats concerned too." Jaypaw stared at Y/A/N as the P/C she-cat crouched down, embarrassed. "Traitor" She said to Poppypaw, who just giggled and padded away.

"So, you waited out on medical attention?" The medicine cat apprentice asked. Y/A/N looked at Jaypaw. "Well, it didn't hurt too much, and I saw a vole, and I just thought about getting more prey for the clan, especially since I was on a hunting patrol...." She said nervously. Jaypaw just stared at the she-cat for a couple moments before saying "You're really lucky it's not infected Y/A/N. I swear to Starclan though if you do it again, I'm going to claw your ears off and confine you to camp to keep you from getting hurt. Now you're definitely helping me collect herbs, whether you want to or not" He said, pushing Y/A/N towards the entrance to camp. "All right, I was going to help anyways, no need to push" She said, and moved out of Jaypaws way to let him lead.

The two apprentices made their way across Thunderclan territory to where a batch of herbs were. Jaypaw began scenting them, trying to find ones they were low on. Y/A/N watched the tom look, enjoying the dusk sunlight and being with Jaypaw. The medicine cat apprentice picked out herbs as he went, putting them beside Y/A/N before going back to looking. After a little while he had a bunch of herbs and padded back to Y/A/N one last time. "Ok, I think this is everything we need for the store, grab those herbs and we can head back" He said. Y/A/N nodded and picked up the pile of herbs Jaypaw had put beside her, and followed the blind tom back.

Y/A/N padded beside Jaypaw, watching the blind tom gracefully make his way through the forest as if he was never blind. She admired how skilled he was, especially for a cat that was born blind, unlike Longtail who has his eyes clawed to the point that he became blind. The apprentice did feel bad for the young elder, since he couldn't find a way to keep being a warrior and had to resort to an early retirement. But she was glad Jaypaw found a way to still be helpful to his clan, despite his blindness. She probably would have never met him otherwise.

The two cats padded back to the hollow, mouths full of herbs. They padded across the clearing and into the medicine cat den. The two apprentices went into the herb store where Leafpool was sorting herbs. "Oh good, you're back Jaypaw. And you recruited Y/A/N to help I see?' She said, then showed Y/A/N where she could drop the herbs to be sorted. Y/A/N put the herbs down "Well I had nothing better to do for the rest of my day so I helped Jaypaw" She said "Well I appreciate it, and I'm sure Jaypaw does too" She said, knowing Jaypaws usual grumpiness, but he did say "Yeah, it was nice to have her help" before he left. Leafpool stared at the entrance to the store for a moment "I don't think that was sarcastic. Did you break Jaypaw or something?' She asked, and Y/A/N shook her head. "Not that I know of. But maybe it's my amazing attitude" She said, which earned a doubtful look from the medicine cat.

Y/A/N said her goodbyes to Leafpool and exited the store, finding Jaypaw redo the bedding in the den. "So, wanna share some fresh-kill? Maybe you can be the one to do all the talking about your journey to the mountains" Y/A/N suggested. Jaypaw looked at the she-cat and nodded. "Sure, I'll share some fresh-kill with you" He said, and Y/A/N happily padded with him to the fresh-kill pile. "Just make sure you don't get scratched by the fresh-kill. You seem to have a knack for injuring yourself" He teased.

"Well, it's not like I've been close to death at all" Y/A/N replied as they grabbed a vole and began sharing.
