Chapter 14

Timeskip a bit to around the time that Sol takes over Shadowclan. This does mean that Hollypaw and Lionpaw are now warriors at this point: Hollyleaf and Lioblaze

Y/A/N was sitting up in her nest inside the medicine cat den, grooming herself. Her wounds were almost completely healed, but she was still being careful as she groomed. No other cat was in the den, with Leafpool having Jaypaw gather herbs with her. It did make Y/A/N feel a little lonely, being the only one inside the den, so she carefully stretched and padded outside.

In the hollow, Y/A/N could see cats going around, doing their regular duties. She sat near the entrance to the medicine cat den, enjoying the warm sunlight that was shining into the hollow, even if it was sunset. The apprentice watched Daisy's kits play around, running all over in whatever game they were playing.

Hollyleaf padded up to the she-cat. "Hey Y/A/N! Feeling better?" She asked as she approached. The apprentice nodded. "Much better than the night of the badger attack" She said. Hollyleaf chuckled "Well, makes sense it'd be better than that night. Did Leafpool or Jaypaw clear you for duties yet?" The apprentice shook her head. "I haven't been told anything about returning to regular duties yet"

Hollyleaf gave Y/A/N a sympathetic look. "Well, I don't think it'll be long now. Than you should be able to become a warrior soon after!" She said. "I hope so.." Y/A/N replied. She then felt something small hit her side, earning a quiet squeal of pain. The she-cats looked to see Toadkit had accidentally ran into the apprentice. He scrambled backwards with an "I'm sorry!"

"Careful! Y/A/N isn't fully healed yet!" Hollyleaf said as Toadkit bowed his head and apologized again. "Hey, it's ok Hollyleaf. He didn't mean to" Y/A/N said. "Besides, it would probably take a lot more to re-open my wounds at this point anyways" Hollyleaf sighed as Toadkit scampered off. "Yeah, I guess you're right. But you should still try to be careful"

Y/A/N nodded. She then noticed Leafpool and Jaypaw returning to the hollow, herbs in their mouths. Y/A/N got up and padded over to the two medicine cats. "Hey Jaypaw! How'd the herb collecting go?" She asked. Jaypaw shrugged. "Fine, I guess. Wouldn't have to gather so much if a certain cat would stop getting injured"

Y/A/N could hear Hollyleaf snicker behind her. "Well, I was saving a couple Shadowclan kits from a badger kit, and I only got so injured because an adult one showed up. I think I would've been fine otherwise" She watched the medicine cat apprentice roll his blind eyes. "I still suggest that you stop getting injured. At this rate, you're going to get injured from prey"

Jaypaw followed Leafpool back to the medicine cat den as Hollyleaf said "That would be pretty funny. I could imagine you coming back to camp, some big wound on you, and finding out a mouse or vole did it" She said with a chuckle. Y/A/N just shook her head, smiling as she padded after Jaypaw.

The warrior apprentice entered the medicine cat den just as Jaypaw was leaving the herb store. "Hey Jaypaw!" Y/A/N called out to the blind tom. He turned towards Y/A/N. "Hey Y/A/N, what's up?" He asked. Y/A/N walked up and brushed her pelt up against Jaypaws

"Let's go for a walk or something. I'm bored" She said. Jaypaw chuckled "Fine, just let me see if Leafpool needs anything else" He disappeared back into the herb store, and Y/A/N watched the entrance to it until he came back out. "Alright, let's go" He said with a motion of his tail.

The sun had just gone down as Y/A/N padded after Jaypaw happily as the two apprentices made their way out of the hollow and through the forest. "So, when do you think I'll be able to go back to training?" The P/C she-cat asked Jaypaw. He shrugged "I'd say a couple of days. You're not in any pain, right?" Y/A/N shook her head. "No"

"Good. Then you should be just fine" Jaypaw said as the two cats walked to the shore of the lake. Y/A/N kept twitching her tail, wanting to guide Jaypaw instinctively, but knew he could manage fine on his own, and would probably bite her tail off if she tried.

Y/A/N just padded beside the tom until the two cats reached the sandy shore of the lake as the moon came out. Jaypaw sat down, making himself a bit comfortable on the sand. Y/A/N sat down beside him and leaned into the blind tom.

This time Jaypaw didn't complain about it. He just wrapped his tail around the she-cat as she nuzzled into the tom. "The lake looks beautiful in the moonlight" The she-cat said "I wish you could see it too"

Jaypaw chuckled "Well, I get plenty of scents and sounds to enjoy. As well as hearing you describe it" He said, with an expectant glance over at Y/A/N., making the she-cat chuckle herself. "The water is so still tonight, and it's reflecting Silverpelt so perfectly"

Jaypaw then prodded Y/A/N "You know I can see it in my dreams, right? I wasn't being completely serious about that" Y/A/N giggled and nuzzled into the toms neck. "Well I don't care. I'd explain anything I see if you want to know" She said

Jaypaw shook his head and cuffed the she-cats ear playfully "Now you're just being weird" He said. Y/A/N smiled "You know you love me for it" She teased him, and she could feel the blind toms pelt heat up slightly, making the P/C she-cat giggle again.

The tom playfully prodded Y/A/N again "Now you're laughing?" He teased. Y/A/N shrugged "It's funny how you get a little embarrassed when you're teased" She said. Jaypaw looked at the she-cat's face, and Y/A/N just stared into his blind pupils for a moment before Jaypaw decided to sweep Y/A/Ns front paws, making her fall onto her stomach.

Jaypaw chuckled at the she-cat as she got back up and shook the sand out of her fur. "What was that for?" She asked. "For giggling at me" He answered, sticking his tongue out in the she-cats direction. Y/A/N smiled as brushed up against the tom affectionately. "You're being silly" She teased.

Y/A/N looked up at Silverpelt and noticed how high the moon was getting. "We should probably get back to camp before some cat worries about us" She said, and watched Jaypaw nod in agreement. The she-cat took one more look at the lake and Jaypaw as the blind tom got up and padded back towards camp, and Y/A/N soon followed him.
