Jaypaw was quite proud to have taken down Y/A/N in combat, even if he did use his power to do it. Well, I'm only supposed to use them to help the clan. Using them to fight counts right? He had thought as he padded back to the hollow with Y/A/N, Leafpool, and Brightheart. When Brambleclaw had come to see the results of the training, Jaypaw was irritated that the deputy assumed Y/A/N had won, but it quickly vanished when Brambleclaw congratulated him, even if he had to squirm away from his father.
Jaypaw and Y/A/N had grabbed some fresh-kill from the fresh-kill pile, and ate with Hollypaw and Lionpaw. When he told them of his winnings against Y/A/N, he could sense that they knew he used his powers on her. He gave Hollypaw a So what? look, and could practically sense that she rolled her eyes, no powers need there. He also noticed that Y/A/N was being quiet, but shrugged it off as her being embarrassed. Once he finished, Jaypaw had gotten up and returned to the medicine cat den, where Leafpool was waiting.
"Good job training today" She said. "Although, I can guess why you knew what Y/A/N was going to do" Jaypaw brushed it off. "So what? Isn't being able to fight well good for the clan? And isn't doing what's good for the clan what my power is supposed to be for?" He asked grumpily. Leafpool sighed. "I see your point, but you could have taken it easier. Not only was Brightheart questioning it through her giggling, but that could have hurt Y/A/Ns feelings, with no offense, being beaten by a blind cat" Jaypaw paused and thought about it Oh mouse dung, I didn't think of how Y/A/N would feel about it. That might be why she was so quiet earlier. I'll talk to her in the morning and see what I can do He thought as he laid down in his nest.
Jaypaw had slept for a little while, enjoying his dreams of vision. However, he was suddenly thrusted back to the waking world, and into darkness. But he couldn't understand why, no cat woke him up. Still, Jaypaw got a very uneasy feeling and crept past the sleeping Leafpool and into the clearing.
Jaypaw made his way to the apprentice den, thinking that maybe it was guilt from the training so he decided to sort it out with Y/A/N. But to his surprise he scented her, and the scent was leading him outside of the hollow. He went through the bramble entrance and scented Cloudtail. "Hey Jaypaw, you're not sleeping either?" He asked. "Either? Did Y/A/N already come through here?" "Yeah, a little bit ago. Said she had a weird dream and needed to take a walk. Actually, she's been gone for a while now...." Jaypaw could sense the concern in Cloudtails voice. "Here, I need to talk to her anyways, so I'm going to follow her scent" He said. "I'm coming with you. This doesn't feel quite right with me" Jaypaw wanted to argue, but bit his tongue and allowed the warrior to accompany him. It's not because of my blindness this time, it's out of concern for Y/A/N The blind apprentice thought to calm himself, although it didn't help much.
The two cats followed the she-cats scent out to the lake, and Jaypaw could scent the Shadowclan border. But there was two more scents overpowering both Shadowclan and Y/A/Ns. Badgers and blood! Jaypaw thought. He was about to race in when Cloudtail stopped him "No Jaypaw, stay here! I don't need you getting hurt, especially if Y/A/N is!" He hissed. Once again, Jaypaw, again, wanted to argue, but in concern for his friend, he didn't. "Fine, go see what's wrong-" Jaypaw was cut off as the two heard a bunch of cats yowling. "I think Shadowclan beat us there. I'll call you over when it's safe" Cloudtail said and raced off towards where the badger and blood scent were coming from.
Jaypaw waited for what seemed like moons, hoping to scent Cloudtail return with Y/A/N. But instead of scenting either of them, he heard Cloudtail call out. "Jaypaw! Get over here now!" Jaypaw quickly raced over, nearly tripping over tree roots to get to Cloudtail. When he arrived his heart dropped. He could scent Y/A/N, but also way to much blood coming from the she-cat. He figured she was unconscious, possibly dead at this point. No! She'll be fine, just need to help her! He thought, pushing the darker thought out of his mind. He checked Y/A/Ns breathing and was a bit relieved when he could sense it, however weak it was. Jawpaw then scented Shadowclan warriors coming up to them. "Badgers gone, and now we'll need to get this apprentice back to camp before she bleeds out" Russetfur said, and helped Cloudtail carry the unconscious she-cat back to the Thunderclan camp.
As the cats pushed through the bramble, THunderclan cats began stirring, scenting Shadowclan and blood. Before long the clearing was getting crowded, with every cat concerned for Y/A/N. Once she was inside the medicine cat den, Russetfur went to talk with Firestar. Jaypaw listened in to know what exactly he need to treat, and to know what happened to Y/A/N.
"So, what happened to Y/A/N?" Firestar asked in a very concerned voice. "Well, from what we could gather, two of Tawnypelt's kits got out of camp and were down by the lake. Apparently Y/A/N was down there as well, and as she began questioning the kits, a badger kit had showed up. She distracted it so that the kits could come back and tell us to go help her. By the time my patrol made it there, there was an adult badger who had her pinned to a tree, and was swiping at her. We managed to chase the badger and its injured kit off with Cloudtails help, and then we helped carry her here" Firestar nodded and Jaypaw left to go the medicine cat den when Ruseetfur finished talking.
He entered the den and scented Leafpool, assuming she was treating Y/A/Ns injuries. "Ah, Jaypaw! Go grab some more cobwebs from the store!" She said, and Jaypaw hurriedly went to grab them. He returned and pressed them onto the open wounds, trying to slow down the bleeding long enough to treat the wounds. As they were treating the injured apprentice, Brightheart burst in. "Is Y/A/N ok?!" she asked worridley. "She will be, don't worry." Leafpool as as she treated the wounds. Brightheart seemed like she was going to say something else, judging by the intake of breath Jaypaw heard her take but Leafpool beat her to it. "Go wait in the clearing, I'll let you know once Y/A/Ns wounds are patched up". The one-eyed warrior stood there for a moment before leaving the den.
It took a while, but the two medicine cats were able to stop the bleeding from the injured apprentice. Once they confirmed that she was no longer in risk of bleeding out, they allowed other cats into the medicine cat den. Jaypaw didn't really pay attention to who was coming and going, he just sat beside Y/A/N unconscious body, hoping that she'd wake up soon.
Suddenly, Jaypaw felt a paw push his muzzle, and he scented Hollypaw. "Hey! What was that for Hollypaw?" He asked. "Well, you weren't answering me!" She said. Jaypaw gazed in Y/A/Ns direction for a moment before turning back to his sister. "Well, what do you want?" "Well, I wanna know what happened to Y/A/N! Firestar hasn't told anyone yet." She complained. Jaypaw asked "And what makes you I know?" "I saw you hanging around Firestar when Russetfur was talking to him. You probably overheard it" His sister explained. Jaypaw sighed. "Well, if Firestar probably hasn't said anything because it just happened. Give it a day and he'll probably tell the clan about it" Hollypaw grunted in frustration, then turned to Y/A/N. "Please wake up soon, Y/A/N" She wished.
I wish she'd wake up too.... Jaypaw thought as Hollypaw left the den. Once it buzzed down and no cats were coming in anymore, Jaypaw yawned and curled up next to the injured apprentice, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.
