It's wrong, but she is mine! (Jayfeather X Female Reader)

Chapter 2

It had been a few days since Y/L/N had come to the Thunderclan camp, and over the time she had gotten to know the names of most of the cats there. They were all pretty friendly with her, but sometimes she heard a couple muttering under their breath as they walked away from her, and Y/L/N was unsure if it was about her or something else.

Y/L/N heard the barrier to the medicine cat den rustle and she watched Jaypaw enter. "Oh, you're finally awake" He said, hearing the she-cat stir. Y/L/N had gotten used the the blind cats grumpiness, and considered the apprentice her friend, and not just because he took care of her injured paw. Even though he didn't seemed to like conversation, it didn't stop Y/L/N from chatting away to him whenever she was bored, despite Jaypaw telling her to be quiet, which stopped after a couple days when he realized that the she-cat wouldn't stop.

"You know you've been sleeping so long, it's already sunhigh" Jaypaw informed Y/L/N. "Wait, really?" She asked. Since she's been stuck in the medicine cat den for so long, she's been sleeping in more. "Yeah, all the patrols are all out" He explained as he came over and checked Y/L/N's paw. "Well, it seems like your paw has healed nicely. You should be able to leave tomorrow" Y/L/N was a bit sad, as she wanted to stay in the clan, and she enjoyed talking to Jaypaw, even if she was the one doing most of the talking. The blind apprentice seemed to notice her mood, even without sight as he said "What, not happy to be healed up?" Y/L/N paused for a moment, not answering for a moment Jaypaw, then finally said "Well, its not that I'm not happy to be healed, it's just that I kind of liked being here in the clan..." Jaypaw stared at her with his sightless eyes for what seemed like forever to the loner before saying "Well, why don't you go ask Firestar if you can stay then?" He said, turning around and heading into the herb store.

Y/L/N watched him as she pondered what he had told her. I can actually ask to join?  She thought, then smiled and got up, being a bit careful of her newly healed paw and wandered out of the medicine cats den. In the main part of the camp, Y/L/N could see a few cats, the two elders, Mousefur and Longtail, were grazing on a rock that the sun was shining on. The she-cat could also hear Fernclouds two kits, Foxkit and Icekit playing, both squealing about becoming apprentices soon. Y/L/N smiled, hoping she would be accepted into the clan and made an apprentice as well. Y/L/N looked around, forgetting where the leaders den was until she saw Firestars orange pelt go into his den that was on the highrock. Y/L/N went over and climbed the ledge to the den and went inside.

Firestar was talking to Leafpool, but Y/L/N didn't hear their conversation at all since they stopped talking when she entered and the two looked at the loner. "Oh hey Y/L/N, what can I do for you?" Firestar asked. Y/L/N took a deep breath and then asked "Well, I was wondering if you'd let me join Thunderclan?" Y/L/N could see Firestar ponder her question for a few moments that seemed like forever for the loner. He smiled at her and nodded. "Sure, I can talk with some of the others and I'll see what I can do. For now you can continue staying in the medicine den until a decision is made" Y/L/N smiled with excitement "Ok! Thank you Firestar!" She said before bounding out of the den and back down the ledge.

The she-cat loner returned to the medicine den, but she noticed that Jaypaw wasn't there. She looked around the den and store before she heard the brambles of the dens entrance rustle and she could scent Jaypaw returning. "Oh, you're back. I assume that Firestar let you stay, or you managed to injure yourself even further" He said, having scented the loner long before he even entered. "Well, you'll be happy to know that I'm not injured any further. Firestar said he was going to talk with some of the others before making a final decision, so I'm staying here in the medicine den till one's made. So you're stuck with me for a bit longer!" She said, teasing the grey tom a bit as he rolled his blind eyes, going into the herb store. Y/L/N followed him in as the apprentice grabbed some mouse bile "Hey, is there anything I can help with? I'm bored" She asked, and Jaypaw turned to face her. "Not unless you wanna help me get rid of Mousefurs fleas" He said through the mouse bile he was holding as he walked past the loner. Y/L/N shrugged and followed Jaypaw out of the den.

Jaypaw walked through the hollow to the rock that the two elders were basking with Y/L/N following him. He used the mouse bile over Mousefurs pelt and started searching through it. Y/L/N watched as he grabbed fleas out of the elders pelt and cracked them between his teeth. His blind gaze drifted over to where the loner was watching. "You know, if you want to help, you can start by coming over here" He said. Y/L/N walked over and Jaypaw showed her how to remove fleas from a pelt. After he showed her, Y/L/N went over to the other side of Mousefur and started removing fleas there, all the while Mousefur was telling stories about the old forest that the clans used to live in.

After a short while the two cats were able to get all of Mousefurs fleas, and the elder stretched out. "Thanks you two, I'll sleep much better tonight now" She said, smiling at the two. Jaypaw nodded and walked back towards the medicine cat den, with Y/L/N saying "Your welcome!" to the elder before following the tom. They entered the den and Jaypaw went to talk with Leafpool and Y/L/N sat down in the nest she's been using the past couple days. It wasn't long before Firestar walked in, and came up to the loner. "Hey, Y/L/N, come with me" He said. Y/L/N nodded nervously, and followed the clan leader up to his den and he sat down, signaling for Y/L/N to sit down as well. The loner sat down in front of Firestar as he started talking. "Well, I talked with some of the warriors from the first patrol and I'm happy to say that you are welcome to join Thunderclan" He said. Y/L/N's eyes lit up with excitement. "Really! Thank you Firestar!" She said, bouncing around like a kit. Firestar chuckled at the loners reaction. "Calm down Y/L/N" He said calmly, and after a moment the loner was sitting down again. "We'll make you an apprentice tomorrow. For now, you'll spend one last night in the medicine den, then once you're an apprentice, you'll be sleeping in the apprentice den" The leader explained and Y/L/N nodded in understanding. "Alright, you're dismissed Y/L/N" The loner smiled "Thanks again Firestar!" She said as she left.

Y/L/N went down the ledge from the Highrock and Firestars den and made her way back to the medicine cat den. "Hey Jaypaw!" She called out, and she could hear the blind tom grumble something from the herb store and after a moment he emerged. "What is it, Y/L/N?" He asked grumpily. The loner padded up to him excitedly "Firestars gonna make me an apprentice tomorrow!" She said happily. Jaypaw didn't seem to show any emotion, but did say "Good for you". Y/L/N could tell that he meant it, and wasn't being sarcastic like he usually would be. The loner beamed with happiness and left the den, watching the different patrols come back into the camp over the course of the day.

I'm actually going to join Thunderclan!  She thought happily
