Chapter 1

It was about sunhigh and Y/L/N was practicing her hunting skills in the small clearing, crouching down and pouncing on random leaves and twigs she laid out. She felt like she was getting pretty good, and could catch pretty much anything that lived in the forest.

However, she felt a bit lonely. Sure, her life was going pretty well, but it was hard to be by yourself, with no one to talk to. Y/L/N decided she would explore further into the forest, see what else what was out there and maybe that might take her mind of her loneliness.

Y/L/N started trekking through the undergrowth, cautiously sniffing as she went in case she ran into a hostile cat or animal. She definitely didn't want to get into any fights, especially since she had no skill or knowledge with fighting.

Y/L/N wandered for a while, enjoying the parts of the forest she had never seen before. As she was exploring, the scent of another cat quickly filled her nostrils and Y/L/N instinctively ducked into a bush, peering out where the scent had come from.

From her hiding place, Y/L/N could see a tom with a gray pelt sniffing around some plants. The she-cat watched him curiously, wondering what he was doing. Maybe he's looking for something? She thought before she watched the tom lift his head and start sniffing the air.

Y/L/N scrambled backwards, thinking that the tom caught her scent, but ended tripping over a rabbits burrow and getting her paw stuck Of all the times to get stuck! She thought, trying to wrench her paw free as the other cat walked towards her, seemingly following her scent.

As Y/L/N was busy with trying to free her paw, she heard a "Hey!" from the other cat as he approached her. She flattened her ears as he came up "What are you doing on Thunderclan territory?" He asked, scenting the air around the trapped she-cat.

The tom circled around Y/L/N as she replied "I was just exploring, I didnt realize I crossed a border...." She watched as the tom circled around her to where her stuck paw was, and he helped her free it.

"It seems like you sprained your paw, you should follow me and don't put any weight on it" He said, looking at Y/L/N before trotting off, grabbing some of the plants he had been sniffing before.

Y/L/N nodded but noticed something with the other cats eyes. They were blue with faded pupils. "Hey, you're blind, aren't you?" She said, limping after him as she tried not to put any weight on her sprained paw.

"Yeah, so what?" He said, kind of snapping at her. Y/L/N flinched at the toms words. "Sorry, I didn't mean anything bad by it. By the way, my names Y/L/N, what's yours?" She asked as they trekked through the forest. "Jaypaw" He answered, and Y/L/N noticed how gracefully Jaypaw was leading her through the trees, despite being blind.

Soon enough, Jaypaw led Y/L/N to a hollow, where the she-cat could scent many other cats, and she slowed down a bit, nervous. She didn't know how these other cats would take to her arrival, and Jaypaw seemed to sense it as he stopped and turned back towards her.

"Come on, you'll be fine" He assured her, gesturing towards the hollow with his tail. Y/L/N took a deep breath and followed him to the entrance, the cat that was sitting their gave greetings to Jaypaw but stopped when he saw Y/L/N.

"Who are you?" He asked, and Y/L/N could see him glaring at her. But before she could answer, Jaypaw stepped in "She's a loner who I found injured, I brought her here to help her" He said, and the other cat seemed to calm down, allowing the two to enter the hollow.

As Y/L/N pushed her way through the bramble barrier, she looked around what she would assume to be the Thunderclan camp, judging that Jaypaw had said she was in Thunderclan territory and this place had so many cats inside. Jaypaw lead her to a den, and Y/L/N tried to ignore the stares of the other cats as she followed him inside.

Y/L/N could scent a she-cat that was further in, and she seemed to have heard the two enter. "Hey Jaypaw, did you get the herbs we needed?" She asked, not looking at them. Jaypaw entered the other area of the den and put the herbs he gathered down.

"Here. Also, there's a cat who's sprained her ankle so I brought her here." He explained, and the other cat came out to see. She scented Y/L/N as she approached the loner "Hi there, I'm Leafpool. What happened?" She asked as she examined the loner.

"Well, I was exploring and I guess i crossed over into your guys territory, and when i tried to back up I tripped into a small burrow and Jaypaw said I sprained my paw" Y/L/N replied, using her tail to point at the sprained paw.

"Alright, I'll take a look. Jaypaw, can you grab some comfrey?" Leafpool asked as she went over to Y/L/N's paw. Jaypaw nodded and went back to the other section of the den, which Y/L/N now assumes is where the cats kept their herbs.

Leafpool scented Y/L/N's paw, and prodded it, earning some hisses of pain from the she-cat. "It's definitely sprained, might be some bone damage too" She said as Jaypaw came back with the comfrey. Leafpool took the leaves of the comfrey and wrapped Y/L/N's sprained paw in it.

"Keep your paw as still as you can, it won't heal otherwise" She said, using some moss to put under the sprained paw. "You'll also have to stay here for a few days to limit your movement" and Y/L/N nervously nodded in understanding

"But what would your clan think about me staying here?" She asked, worried that it could cause some disruption in Thunderclan.

"I'll talk to Firestar, and I'm sure no one will have a problem with you healing here" Leafpool said and left the den, leaving Y/L/N with Jaypaw. She looked at the blind tom who had gone to sort through the herbs.

"So, what's clan life like?" She asked curiously. Jaypaw stopped what he was doing and turned towards her.

"Well, we all work together for the good of the clan. Warriors will defend our borders and hunt for the clan, with apprentices being warriors-in-training" He explained "We have our nursery where all the queens will go when they're expecting or caring for kits. Kits become apprentices when they reach the age of six moons. Then we have the elders, where our warriors go once they get too old to fight and hunt. We also have our leader, currently Firestar, who will have a deputy, which is currently Brambleclaw. Then you have the medicine cat, whom you've met, is Leafpool, and I'm Leafpool's medicine cat apprentice. That a good enough explanation for you?" Jaypaw said, and Y/L/N nodded

"Good. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going back to sorting the store" He said, turning back and going into the store again.

Y/L/N laid her head down in the nest, watching Jaypaw sort herbs as she drifted off to sleep with the clan in her mind. She had been feeling lonely in her little area, and was thinking about how clan life must be. As she went to sleep, one thought crossed her mind
