"Antonio..." Penny whispered, even though we were far from any cop.
"Our home.. Where will we go now?"
Antonio remained silent, we all took a heavy blow. We were quick to escape, and forgot many things. I was lucky enough to have remembered Stybba. Really, I would have killed my self if I had forgotten her, Stybba is, well, a big part of me. She's like a memento of my life before...
:flash back like 8 years before:
Aubrey sat in his bedroom with his cousin, watching her finally sew on the tail of the stuffed fat grey pony.
"There you go, Aubrey."
She placed the pony on the younger kid's head, Aubrey giggled.
"Do you like it?"
"Yea!"
The two cousins went out to the yard, where Aubrey played with his new toy, and she watched.
Her parents called, then Cody called Aubrey inside. On either side of Cody was his parents, Red-headed like Aubrey, though Cody himself had deep brown. Cody was the odd ball of the family, after all.
Aubrey ran to his parents, carrying the pony toy with him.
"Look, Mommy! Look what cousin Jen made me!"
"What did you call it, honey?"
Aubrey thought a second.
"I'll call it.. Stybba! Like the pony from Daddy's book!"
"Were you looking in my book again, little halfling? I'm surprised you could purnounce that name.."
:end of flash brk:
Mom and Dad were so.. Nice then. They changed, and dad woke up one day to find his 'little halfling' gone. Served him right.
I still question why Stybba, and not Bill, who is more well known. Well, maybe fate was set that I would be called 'Merry.'
"This is a tough matter, where exactly do we go?" Cody pondered.
Right. Our home. Where do we go next? I raked my mind for any ideas.
There is no where else in the city we can go, we've tried just about every place, and were not going to try the streets. Antonio made strict rules amongst us that we must have a roof over us to keep us safe...
"Any ideas?" Antonio asked. Penny and I shook our heads, but Cody remained with a thoughtful expression on his face.
"Perhaps.." He murmured to himself, but shook his head.
"I saw that!" Penny exclaimed.
"Come on, Cody. We all saw you had an idea..."
"What is it?" I ask excitedly
"Hmm, well since you all want to know, I know of a place.. A property that belonged to Aubrey and I's parents. There was a two story house there, electricity, and even running water. Not to mention a smelly barn, and 21 acres of property."
"That sounds wonderful! Why can't we?" Pen asked.
I remained lost in thought. I remember that place. Our parents had good jobs, and were fairly wealthy, so they bought a property for Cody and I to screw around and use all our big toys there. There probably might still even be an all terrain vehicle there. We went there every summer, sometimes staying overnight in the house. Usually the whole family goes, but sometimes it would just be me and Cody, or us and that Lou guy who works for us, and sometimes-
