"Come on... Come on..."
I close the book and watched as Antonio attempts to use an old propane stove.
Fail.
Antonio swore a bit, before looking to Penn and I.
"Damn.. Well, looks like we're having barbeque tonight!"
"Yay." Penn answered, unenthusiastically.
Since Antonio is a lazy old man, Penn and I were the ones searching for firewood.
"This looks dry.."
"Aubrey?"
I picked up the branch, then glanced at Penn. She had no trees behind her, and the setting sun was directly behind her, causing a beautiful glow to her golden blonde hair. It always occurred to me that Penn was very pretty..
"Aubrey, what?"
Whoops, I was staring.
"Oh! Err, you called my name, what?"
"Right, I just wanted to point out those flowers. They were pretty, I wonder what they are, or if I have time to pick some.."
"Black eye susans." I say automatically. Then, I turned back to my collection of firewood.
There was something in the distance. Something unnatural.
"Hey, Penn..."
"Wha?"
But I was already walking, and picking up speed, towards the thing in the distance.
What could it be?
From here it looks like a map, though it could be a trap. Hmm... Paper.. Could it be a lost cat poster?
I finally am in front of it. None of the above...
It looks like a terrible drawing.
On paper,
Not notebook.
But...
I stared, dread filling up within me to the overflow.
The page hunt.. I believe.. Has begun.
