Two down. Now it is just Penny and I. Never have I felt so alone.
Now we just stick to the house, Penn stays in the house, despite the tempatures it can get in there, while I stay in the garage.
You see, I am planning to fix the ATVs. They could prove to be very useful, just think about it: we could feel safer as a whole while traveling, for we are in a vehicle a little smaller than a car, but way larger than a motor bike. This means, if any pasta comes at us, we can run them over. They have headlights for darkness, and are easy enough for most people to drive.
And I'm fixing them, because the last time I saw them, they were in perfect condition, and they were in this garage all along, away from the elements.
Before fixing, I tried to start one. The large old ATV was a good one, with four wheel drive and a passenger seat. I turned the key, and checked the digital screen. No response. But I think I know. This one, both of them, should actually have ran out of batteries, no fuel, and the tires are literally flat.
"Hey... Penn.." I called from the basement.
"Yea, wut is it?"
"Can you help me here?"
I had Penn fill the tires, because that was easy enough to explain, while I looked for where you insert gas. Once I found it, I had to look for a gas canister. There were some in the garage, but they were heavy, full of gasoline. Penn was done already, and watched me struggle with the can.
"Need help, Aub?"
"Yeah, why couldn't you have noticed sooner?"
"Well, I didn't know if you were trying to be manly or something by doing it yourself."
For one thing, never would I try to be 'manly.' I already know I would look stupid, and I look more like a hobbit than a man. Maybe I'm a hillbilly due to that, I don't really know. With Penn's help, the can was moved easily, and we were able to fill the ATV. Now all we need, is a battery change, or charge, I can't really say, because I can't remember if the battery is charged or replaced.
:time skip because even Seth cannot solve the battery problem:
"There!" I said triumphantly, then turned the key in the ATV. It started, then I pressed the small green button on the handle. It stated to whine, then you hear the low growl of the engine. Perfect.
I backed my ATV out of the garage, then called to Penn
"Start your ATV, and pull it out!"
She started hers. It started alright too, but she didn't pull back.
"What's wrong? Didn't I show you how to drive it?"
"I don't know, Aubrey, I'm kind of nervous. What if I hit you, or go to fast and crash?"
I sighed.
"Penny, you wouldn't, geez. Why of all times are you scared now? We aren't even being chased!"
Penn stayed silent, but turned the key on the ATV, disabling it. I sighed again.
"Okay then, you could ride on the back of mine. You trust me...right?"
She didn't answer, but awkwardly walked up to my green ATV. I stretched my hand out to her, and helped her onto the passenger seat.
"You can hold on to the handle bars there so you don't fall off, but if your scared... You can your arms around me, okay? Do you trust me?"
Penn stared a second, then slowly nodded her head.
"Yeah, Aubrey," she said, quieter than normal. "I trust you."
This ending was a treat, for those who read past the auto junk.
Seriously, that was pretty boring to write, thank gerd its over! XD
