We found our fourth page on a bush.
It said 'NO NO NO NO NO NO NO."
"Okay..." I said more at the page.
"Aubrey, do you feel, watched?"
We turned and looked around, but nothing was left.
"Eh, but I swore I heard footsteps."
We continued to search throughout the property, mainly following ATV trails that were overgrown almost above our heads. When not being pursued by the Slenderman, we checked each other for ticks.
By the time I found the sixth page, it was clear someone was following us.
"There is someone following us, I keep hearing footsteps." I said annoyed. Out of a whim, I called out
"Just show your damn face, we know your out there!!"
"Shh... Aubrey!"
There was a slight rustling, then a man walked out of the shrubbery.
The man with the yellow hoodie.
"You...you were... But why?" Penn asked, confused.
"You are always getting caught in our games, aren't ya?" Questioned a familiar voice, then another guy walked onto the path.
The man from the white mask, and his voice is very familiar.
"Aren't you.."
"No time, kiddo. Operator is coming."
The hooded man dropped an orange pill bottle in Penn's hand.
"Here, take these, its the last of ours."
"Hey! But.."
But they were already gone.
"But.. What are these for?" Penn asked, giving the bottle to me. It was not a big bottle, with the 'child proof' lid, and three white pills inside. There was no label, or instructions, or in fact anything on the plain bottle. Why would somebody just give someone pills?
"Do we take them?" Penn asked, pointing at the bottle.
"But what if they're poison?"
Static blurred our hearing, so we ran again. I still don't get why the Slenderman is not chasing us like a cat and a laser. He just comes and goes.
"But they might not be poison," Penny said as she panted. " they might just help us."
I was still sceptical, but Penn does have a point. Those guys who gave them to us could have shreded us if they were trying to murder us.
I nodded, and opened the pill bottle. I carefully picked two out, and gave one to Penn. She didn't even hesitate, she just swallowed it down. I stared at it.
"Aubrey, just take it." Penn walked in front of me and waved her arms around for some reason.
"See? I'm fine, and I swallowed mine."
"Ugh, okay."
Then I swallowed the pill. It was alittle big, and choked alittle, then I was fine.
"Come on," Penn said, grabbing my hand.
"There are two more pages out there, and we are going to find them, unless you want to stay and fuss about pills. Come on!"
And so she pulled me along to the next page.
"Okay, Aubrey, one more page..."
Then she went silent. I didn't hear static, so it was kinda weird.
I followed her gaze.
"The last page was in the distance, just out of range of sight, but the Slenderman was chilling nearby. What was weird is, though we stared at it here, we did not feel intense fear, static, or weakness.
Penn was approaching him.
"Penny," I hissed, not wanting to be heard. "Penny get back here!"
"But I don't feel anything, eh? And he doesn't seem to notice us. Aubrey, don't be a chicken, come on!"
"But, uh, fine. But if that thing sees us.."
I approached the last page from the other side, praying he doesn't find me.
Crack.
I stepped on a branch. Penny was close enough to touch the page.
The Slenderman turned his head toward me, then these...tenticles shot out of his back and at me at a quick pace. I was lucky to dodge getting impaled.
Even with the pills, which seem to help the static, I began to feel the Slenderman's effects again.
But then his head turned again. Penn stood alone in front of him, holding a crumpled peice of paper that was the last page.
Is it gameover?
Or now what?
