I slowly nodded to Aubrey's request, probably his final request. From his outstretched hand, I carefully lifted the single white pill to my mouth.
"Go now, I'll try to follow." Aubrey said, calmly.
I nodded, and left.
I did not dare look back as I jumped out the window of the burning house. Aubrey was most probably not following me. Two would bring too much attention, pill or not. And the pill only tames the effects of Slender's static, not keeps him completely away.
I only looked straight forward as I ran. Back in the house, I heard the final pained cries of Aubrey, then silence. Aubrey went down with his old home.
Tears streamed as I ran down the road, wretched and lonely.
I stopped at a road intersection.
Where now? I have no place to go, for I am lonely, and, very tired.
It doesn't matter if this is my last, I laid down in the tall grass, somehow, after the days of death and sorrow, finding a long sleep.
I was suddenly awoken, hours later as the sun was not quite ready to rise. It was still dark.
A car was parked nearby, a girl sat in the driver's seat. She came out to leer at me.
"Hey, where'd all you're friends go off too? Abandon you? Figures."
I glared at Olivia. She had pretty much started all this, by telling us to go here. I clenched my fist, she's done for.
"What are you glaring at, Pipsqueak?" Olivia asked coldly.
"Antonio was the trouble all along, if you scooted down my way, your friends might still be here."
She pulled out a small pistol, carefully fingering it. I stood up defiantly.
"Those are blanks, Olivia."
"Oh?"
There was pain, before that, a bang.
I looked down, seeing blood ooze out of me. I collapsed on my knees, in defeat.
"I don't forget my customers," Olivia said, smirking.
"And I didn't forget you. Hope you like it, I personally bought that bullet just for you."
"Come back here, you-"
I coughed, then fell on my face. But I never felt the landing.
