Above The Water (Original Song #14)

So, I've had a hectic past few days. You see, we have/had an above ground pool in my backyard that's built into a deck and it came with the house when my parents moved here. Anyway, on Sunday it decided to collapse out of nowhere. One part of the pool wall gave out and all the water flooded into our basement, carrying in tons of dirt that it picked up from under the deck. We are still cleaning up and we lost a lot of furniture. The worst part of this is probably that it ruined our water heater, so we haven't had hot water in four days.

Anyway, I suppose something good came out of this disaster because it inspired the first lyrics to this song. The song has nothing to do with my pool collapsing, but I did get the first spark of inspiration from the incident.

I wrote the instrumental on piano before I had all of the lyrics and I have to say, it's my favorite piano instrumental I've written so far. I hope to record it soon to share it with you guys.
