Chapter Twenty

It was time to go. Each kid had their bag packed and thanks to all the scouting I do, I found bigger bags for us. We we're all able to fit all our clothes, extra food, water, and ammo in our bags. The kids picked up their bags.

Alexander had his arrows across his shoulders, pointing the arrows right upwards. His bag was on his left shoulder, with his gun in his holster, knives on him, sword strapped around his waist and his bow in his hand.

Isabelle had her bag on her left shoulder, with her gun in her holster, sword over her shoulders, and knives all over.

Athena had her bag on correctly, with her knives and gun on her.

I had my med bag over my head, my bag and arrows on my left shoulder, and Judith's bag and my bow on my right shoulder. I had my sword around my waist, gun in holster, and knives on me. I put the swaddle over my head and put Judith inside. She was sound asleep.

"Mommy, are we coming back?" Athena asked.

"It depends on how the plan goes. If it goes well, we will, but if not, we run." I told her.

She nodded and we all left the room. We walked to Carl's cell and saw him packing.

"You finished?" I asked.

"Yeah." he said, grabbing his bag. I could smell his anger. I knew he didn't like this.

We walked outside and I placed the kids' things in the car. We we're taking three cars. The kids and I would be in one. I put mine in first, then Alec's, Athena's, Isabelle's, and Judith's. I closed the trunk and buckled Judith in. Isabelle and Athena were in the back, with Alec in the front with me.

I looked at Rick and nodded. It was time to go. We got in the cars and drove to the woods. We would stay there and watch as the Governor attacked, before we did ourselves.

I got out of the car after parking it. Isabelle and Athena stayed in the car with Judith, while Alec got out.

"You remember what you have to do if worst case scenario happens, right?" I asked.

"I do." He nodded.

"I love you 3000, my little warrior." I told him.

I kissed his forehead as he hugged me.

"I love you too, momma." He told me.

He hasn't called me that since his father passed. I squeezed him. I went to the back and opened Isabelle's door.

"I love you, 3000, Princessa." I told her.

"I love you, mommy." She told me.

I kissed her forehead.

"I'll be back soon." I told her.

She nodded and I went to Athena.

"Do you have to go?" She asked.

"I do, mijita, but I'll be back. Promise." I told her.

She jumped in my arms as I hugged her.

"My little firecracker. I love you 3000." I told her.

"I love you 3000, mommy." She said kissing my cheek.

I kissed her forehead, before kissing Judith's head.

Together with the others I left and prepared for the fight. As we waited for the Governor, I could hear the cars. Soon after it was the footsteps. Ten no Twenty. I continued listening until I heard the bangs. I winced from the noise, until I saw them run out. Together we fired, killing as many as we could as they retreated.
