Chapter Nineteen

After Rick left with Michonne and Carl, I had busied myself with clearing any walkers in the building. Isabelle and Alexander both came with me, while Athena stayed behind with Beth, helping her with Judith.

As I led, Alec and Izzy both took charge in killing the walkers. They were an amazing team. Izzy would go in first, with Alec behind her killing walkers further behind, but he was also able to protect himself.

"Isabelle, I want you to stop using your sword and use your voice. Control it to kill the walker in front of you." I told her.

"How?" She asked me.

"Imagine your voice and the soundwaves it creates. You can use your hands and arms to control the flow of it. Watch me." I told her.

I put my hands to my face and screamed. I could see the soundwaves as they left and destroyed the walker in front of me. She tried it and succeeded. We continued on and finally, cleared out the whole prison.

"Alec, you hear anything?" I asked him, wanting him to practice.

"Nothing." he told me.

I smiled and we went back to the others.

"Mommy!" Athena yelled, hugging me.

"Hey, sweetheart. Were you good?" I asked.

"Yeah. I helped with Judith." She told me.

I smiled and together we ate the dinner Beth made. By midnight, the others returned. Morning came and it was time for Rick to leave to meet the Governor.

"Are you sure you don't want me to go? I can stay in the woods, hidden." I told him.

"No. You stay here. Hershel and Daryl are coming with me. Anything happens I need you here." He told me.

I nodded and hugged him.

"I'll come back." He told me.

I watched as they left, before preparing with the others. I grabbed five boxes of ammo, putting one in each of the kids and two in my bag. I then grabbed some guns, with silencers and handed them to them.

"Isabelle, Alexander, you use it, if necessary." I told them. "Athena, you don't lose any of your weapons." I told her. They each nodded and we went to the others.

I grabbed some vest. I put one on Athena and Isabelle. We didn't have anymore. I glanced at all the kids. Alec, with his bow in his hand, arrows on his back, his AR on his shoulder, pistol in his gun holder, sword on his side, and his knives all over him. Izzy, hand her pistol in her holder, her sword on her back, knives on her, and her AR in her hand, with a vest on. Thena, had her knives, gun in hand, with her vest on.

"If anyone gets remotely close and you get scared, use your voice and claws. Alec, your faster than all of them. Use it to your advantage. Izzy, your voice can kill and injure people. You stay close and protect one another, especially, your sister." I told them.

"We will." They told me.

"Athena, grab Carl's bag and be sneaky about it." I told her.

A few minutes later she came back. I filled it with food, folding his clothes, and put ammo in it. Thena returned it and we all kept on high alert. 

"Mom, Glenn and Merle are fighting again." Alec told me.

"Let them deal with it." I told him.

He nodded. I heard Judith start crying and Isabelle got her. Soon she and Athena joined us. Athena had her bottle, a blanket, and some toys, while Izzy had Judith.

"We thought it would be best if she stayed with us." Izzy told me.

I nodded and watched as Athena fed Judith. I could hear the car coming and watched as Rick and the others pulled in.
