Astrid's P.o.v

I woke up today and streched, before realizing that my tenth birthday was in five days. I got up off of my makeshift bed and picked out my outfit for today. The outfit was a simple lavender t-shirt with a flower on it, and black pants. After I picked out my outfit, I hung out with my friend Emily as I waited for Breakfast.

"Astrid, I heard that someone is going to come over to adopt." Emily told me, "That's surprising, the last time someone came to adopt came half a week ago." I replied. I continued talking to Emily until Breakfast was ready. After I ate breakfast I was playing with Emily and her friend Ryan. We were playing hide and seek, and Ryan was it. He managed to find Emily pretty quickly, but had a hard time figuring out where I hid. After fifteen minutes of them trying to find me they did.

After me and Ryan hid, Emily began looking for both of us, I was hiding in a closet and Ryan hid under a large table. We hung out for the entire afternoon and until dinner. Dinner was pizza, which I enjoyed. After dinner, we got a group of people and we played tag outside with them. I didn't get tagged once during the game, since I could run very fast.

After playing tag, I played games on my phone. I played Subway Surfers, and set a new high score of 450,000. I continued trying to beat it but couldn't, so I decided to play Crossy Road. One turn I was one hop away from breaking my record, but I got hit by a train. The next game I played was Temple Run, and I scored 200,000 before my character died.

After playing games on my phone, I played my guitar. Rather my mom's guitar, since it belonged to her until she died. I started playing one of my favorite songs, You Belong With Me.

You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset
She's going off about something that you said
'Cause she doesn't get your humor like I do

I'm in the room, it's a typical Tuesday night
I'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like
And she'll never know your story like I do

But she wears short skirts
I wear T-shirts
She's Cheer Captain, and I'm on the bleachers
Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find
That what you're looking for has been here the whole time

If you could see that I'm the one
Who understands you
Been here all along
So, why can't you see?
You belong with me
You belong with me

Walk in the streets with you in your worn-out jeans
I can't help thinking this is how it ought to be
Laughing on a park bench thinking to myself
Hey, isn't this easy?

And you've got a smile
That can light up this whole town
I haven't seen it in a while
Since she brought you down
You say you're fine, I know you better than that
Hey, what you doing with a girl like that?

She wears high heels
I wear sneakers
She's Cheer Captain, and I'm on the bleachers
Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find
That what you're looking for has been here the whole time

If you could see that I'm the one
Who understands you
Been here all along
So, why can't you see?
You belong with me

Standing by and waiting at your backdoor
All this time how could you not know, baby?
You belong with me
You belong with me

Oh, I remember you driving to my house
In the middle of the night
I'm the one who makes you laugh
When you know you're 'bout to cry
And I know your favorite songs
And you tell me 'bout your dreams
Think I know where you belong
Think I know it's with me

Can't you see that I'm the one
Who understands you?
Been here all along
So, why can't you see?
You belong with me

Standing by and waiting at your backdoor
All this time how could you not know, baby?
You belong with me
You belong with me

You belong with me
Have you ever thought just maybe
You belong with me?
You belong with me

After I finish playing it, I begin playing Better Than Revenge.

Now go stand in the corner and think about what you did
Ha, time for a little revenge

The story starts when it was hot and it was summer
And, I had it all I had him right there where I wanted him
She came along, got him alone, and let's hear the applause
She took him faster than you could say sabotage
I never saw it coming, nor would I have suspected it
I underestimated just who I was dealing with
She had to know the pain was beating on me like a drum
She underestimated just who she was stealing from

She's not a saint and she's not what you think
She's an actress, whoa
She's better known for the things that she does
On the mattress, whoa
Soon she's gonna find
Stealing other people's toys on the playground
Won't make you many friends
She should keep in mind
She should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge, ha

She looks at life like it's a party and she's on the list
She looks at me like I'm a trend and she's so over it
I think her ever present frown is a little troubling
And, she thinks I'm psycho
'Cause I like to rhyme her name with things, but
Sophistication isn't what you wear, or who you know
Or pushing people down to get you where you wanna go
Oh they didn't teach you that in prep school
So it's up to me
But no amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity
(Think about what you did)

She's not a saint and she's not what you think
She's an actress, whoa
She's better known for the things that she does
On the mattress, whoa
Soon she's gonna find
Stealing other people's toys on the playground
Won't make you many friends
She should keep in mind
She should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge, ha

I'm just another thing for you to roll your eyes at honey
You might have him, but haven't you heard
I'm just another thing for you to roll your eyes at honey
You might have him, but I'll always get the last word
Whoa

She's not a saint and she's not what you think
She's an actress, whoa
She's better known for the things that she does
On the mattress, whoa
Soon she's gonna find
Stealing other people's toys on the playground
Won't make you many friends
She should keep in mind
She should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge, ha

And do you still feel like you know what you're doing
'Cause I don't think you do, oh
Do you still feel like you know what you're doing
I don't think you do, I don't think you do
Let's hear the applause
C'mon show me how much better you are
See you deserve some applause
'Cause you're so much better
She took him faster than you could say sabotage

After playing Better Than Revenge, I decide to go to bed since it was
9:45 P.M.
