Chapter 18: Taylor In The Studio

I was sitting on my couch when song lyrics popped in my head, I grabbed a piece of paper and scribbled down the lyrics. The lyrics were:

After writing down the lyrics, I decide to leave my house in Tribeca and go to Electric Lady Studios to record these lyrics, bringing Astrid, and Elijah with me.

"Why are we going to an actual studio since you have a studio-esque setup in your house?" Astrid asked me, "I'm going to Electric Lady Studios to record a few songs and work with Jack Antonoff." I explain as we drove closer to the studio.

Once we entered our studio, I said hello to Jack and introduced him to Astrid and Elijah. Then I entered the recording booth, and sang the lyrics that I had written on the page. After listening back to the recording, I started working with Jack on the rest of the lyrics, while we began creating the Instrumentation for the song.

Astrid and Elijah helped come up with ideas, then Jack would play them and we'd choose if we liked them or not.

After twenty-two minutes we finished the song, and I chose another song to work on. I played the music for "The Man" so Jack could hear what I had come up with. We agreed that the keyboard loop should be replaced, Jack played some chords on the keyboard, "Jack, can you try that on the synth setting." So Jack switched the sound to that of a synth. Jack played the chords and then I could hear the melody in my head. We recorded the melodies, then listened back to it. "I think it's complete." I told Jack, who agreed with me.

We chose the demo of "ME!" to work on. Listening back to the demo, I realized that a drum loop should be added and maybe some trumpets or horns. I hummed the trumpets and with Jack's permission, switched the keyboard to the sound of trumpets. I hummed what I had in my head to Jack, who created the trumpets just like I had envisioned them.
I thanked Jack before me, Elijah, and Astrid left the studio. We left the studio and went home.

After arriving home, Meredith and Olivia walked towards us, Olivia walking into the walls. "I think Olivia is drunk!" I exclaimed to Astrid and Elijah, who both laughed at Olivia who kept walking into the wall. Olivia stopped walking into the wall and started  walked towards us. Meredith giving me, Astrid, and Elijah her greatest glare. "Someone's a little angry!" Astrid joked causing me to lightly chuckle, before I looked at the unamused Meredith who walked away from us. "Thats SO RUDE!!" Elijah joked.

After we got settled, I turned on the TV, and began watching my favorite shows: Law & Order SVU and Friends. Olivia laid in my lap, while Astrid and Elijah sat beside me on the couch. Two hours later I was making spaghetti for dinner, and after I finished making the pasta Astrid and Elijah joined me at the kitchen island.

After dinner, I went upstairs to my bathroom and took a shower. I made sure to wash and dry my hair thoroughly, after I finished my shower I changed into my pink cat pajamas and went back downstairs to the living room. Me, Astrid, and Elijah watched a new movie.

Once the movie ended, we all went to bed. Astrid and Elijah bid me goodnight before falling asleep. I went to my room and went on my phone. I watched funny videos that my fans posted and read some of their funny comments.

By 11:00 PM, my eyes began to feel heavy and I slowly drifted to sleep.
