Chapter 27: Taylor signs with Republic Records

It's finally the big day. Taylor said that she will meet up with Republic Records and will likely sign with them. This is definitely going to surprise her fans and Big Machine. Taylor has finished Lover and is just waiting to sign to Republic Records before releasing it. Lover has 18 songs and is Taylor's seventh studio album. I sat down on one of the seats at the island, and Taylor did shortly after.

"Today's the day!" Taylor excitedly says, "It is." I reply, knowing that this could change her career. Taylor makes us some breakfast. After the breakfast is made, we sit down and begin eating. Not long after, Astrid enters the kitchen and Taylor makes her breakfast. Astrid eats her breakfast and afterwards we all prepare to go with Taylor to the Republic Records headquarters.

We changed out of our pajamas and into some smart casual clothing. Once we all got changed, we entered a waiting black SUV and started our drive to Republic Records. "I'm so excited about this!" Taylor said, "It sucks that I'll have to re-record my first six albums so I can own my masters." Taylor added before making a mix of a funny and disappointed facial expression. The car drives past numerous red lights and cars.
We talk as we drive closer to the location. We talk about how we think the fans are going to react to signing with Republic Records and how they're going to react when Lover releases.

When we arrive at the building, Taylor excitedly exits the car and walks into the building. Taylor asks the receptionist as to where she needs to go, the receptionist tells the details to Taylor, and Taylor starts leading us towards the destination. Once we arrived at the location, a man in a suit and tie leads us into his office. The man reveals himself to be the CEO of Republic Records. After a few minutes, Taylor carefully reads the contract and any possible clauses. Taylor grabs her pen and signs the contract. Taylor takes a picture of the signed contract. Taylor posts the image with the caption: New Label, New beginning. The fans immediately go crazy.

We both were so happy about the fans' positive reactions and responses. Taylor shook hands with the CEO, before we left and went back home. Harry immediately congratulated Taylor about the new deal, and so did Selena. Selena asked Taylor if she could come over since we returned to New York from Australia and Taylor doesn't have any concerts for a week. Taylor agreed and Selena will be over at 2Pm. Taylor then posted a response to many fans' question, why did she leave Big Machine.

Taylor's face lit up with excitement and happiness from all of the positive and supportive comments. She ran over and hugged me and Astrid. We excitedly smiled. At 2, Selena came over with Ryan and Emily.
"This calls for a celebration!!" Selena excitedly exclaimed, before opening the door.

Taylor's face turned to shook as she saw Abigail, Martha Hunt, Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone, Timothée Chalamet, Cara Delevingne, and of course Ed Sheeran. "You guys!!" Taylor exclaimed in disbelief. "Wait a second..." Selena said, before people knocked on my door. Taylor opened it and her parents were there with Austin. She ran towards them and hugged them. "How did you do this?" Taylor asked Selena, "Me, Ed, Timothée, Emma, Gigi, and Cara were all in New York. And I flew out Abigail, and your family." She explained.

Taylor tried to speak but couldn't because she was speechless."This is incredible." She managed to say despite the shock. I looked on in shock that Selena had brought everyone here. Taylor and her mom, Andrea, started making dinner. Dinner was Salad, Steak, Pizza, some Spaghetti, and French Fries. The dinner was so delicious.

It was nice to see everyone again. It was nice to converse with Ryan and Emily especially. The group all played some video games. Mainly Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart. I watched as Taylor, Abigail, Selena, and Timothée played against each other in Mario Kart. The races were all intense, with each race getting closer to a tie.

I watched on intently, enjoying the excitement and chaos. Taylor's face had a huge grin, from signing with Republic Records, from her friends and family celebrating, and because everything is going amazingly.

As the night wore on, me and Astrid, along with Ryan and Emily, went upstairs. Once upstairs, we relaxed and hung out, writing music and playing board games. We enjoyed each other's company and we started to get tired. Me and Astrid climbed into bed, Ryan and Emily joining us soon after.

We relaxed and played games on our phones until our eyes lids felt heavy. Then we put our phones on the nightstand and fell asleep. We fell asleep with our arms wrapped around each other, hugging each other until we drifted to sleep.
