❝I was strong enough to handle the pain, that didn't mean I deserved it.❞

I watched out the window, as we passed all the big malls, and shopping centers

I watched out the window, as we passed all the big malls, and shopping centers. I stared at Jack. He pulled into the parking lot of an apartment complex.

"What are we doing here?" I asked him.

"I wanna show you something." He said, parking the truck. I hopped out of the truck and followed him up three sets of stairs. I was breathing hard, I bent over with my hands on my knees.

"One second." I coughed to Jack, apparently being pregnant made me not be able to breathe. Or maybe it was early stage lung cancer. I kept following him to the end of a hallway. Where he pulled keys out of his pocket. He twisted them in the door and it swung open. To reveal a big open space, a kitchen space.

"What is this?" I asked, stepping past him in the doorway.

"I got us an apartment. Signed the lease yesterday." He said standing beside me. It was nice, not the ritz in any way, the paint was chipped off the walls. The stove looked ancient. However, we could make it work. We made Jack's crumbling excuse of a house work. The living room was nice, it had huge windows tho.

"Guess we can't bang in here." I said gesturing at the windows. Jack smirked.

"Give em a good show" He said leading me to three doors. I swung open the first one. It was a master bedroom, It was fairly nice. I was already in-visioning where we'd put the bed, and our daughters bassinet. The other door revealed a bathroom, with a shower and bathtub, as well as a nice counter space. I could put makeup there, we could even decorate. The third door, was a much smaller room. Evie's room. I smiled at Jack.

"You got us an apartment." I said wrapping my arms around him.

"I figured if we were going to go crib shopping, we should set it up in our new place." He said shrugging. As if it was no big deal he'd bought us an apartment.

"This is our daughter's room." I said gesturing through the door. He nodded and smiled.

"The electrical is ancient, so's the plumbing but everything runs. And they deep cleaned it after the last person got evicted." he explained. I was too happy to care. He could've rented us a shack for all I cared.

"So, you wanna go get things for, our daughter?" He asked, I was still hugging him. I released him from my arms and nodded.

"Fuck yeah."

---------------------

Baby stuff is expensive. Jack and I bought the bare bones to a nursery, five boxes of diapers, a crib, a gliding chair, a dresser, a changing station and a bassinet, and four newborn outfits.. I conned him into getting two bows as well. He'd looked at the price tag and proceeded to shove them in his coat.

"Stroller?" He asked while we checked out. I shrugged,

"We've got 5 months left." I grinned.

"Plenty of times for us to buy clothes, stroller, carrier and bottles." I said smiling. Jack nodded, handing the cashier five hundred dollar bills. That wasn't suspicious at all.

"Have a nice day guys." The cashier said, I watched as a worker wheeled the crib and dresser out to Jack's truck. I watched Jack help lift the boxes. Seeing the muscles in his arms work to lift them gave me the feeling I hadn't had in months. Ever since I'd become pregnant. He slammed the door to the truck, hard.

"Baby stuff aqquired." He said.

"So back to the apartment?" I asked. He nodded. I crossed my legs. I was horny, I hadn't felt this good in months. I took Jack's hand off the steering wheel and placed them on the zipper of my jeans. He turned to me.

"Oh fuck." he said moving his fingers under my jeans.

"Give em a show."
