Namjoon's POV
"Oh, look! She made keychains for her limited fall collection. Aren't they pretty?" I showed them to my hyungs.Jin hyung nodded. "They're very nice! Your new friend did that? She's good."
"Does she deliver worldwide? There's one I find nice. She made a big art piece for it." Hobi said. It was a gradient from very green to none at all. Resin cubes and rectangular prisms mounted in a way you'd think defied gravity. Herbs, flowers, rocks and soil in the pieces. It was stunning.
"I can ask her! I'm sure she would make an exception for you if you really want it." I admitted typing on my phone. I turned to my last Hyung. "Anything to say?"
He shrugged and drank. "I can't believe you still talk with her and encourage them to buy stuff."
Jin replied. "He's showing us. We're the ones thinking it's pretty. What insect bit you?"
"It's been a month. They're still talking. Isn't it weird? She'll get tired of you being elusive about work. What can you talk about to speak every week?" He complained.
Wasn't it a good thing? "You complain if she would have asked, you complain if she didn't. Isn't it nice that she doesn't talk to me about BTS? She didn't even ask me for our pictures together for goodness'sake." I sighed. "We talked about books we read. We read a book the other one liked. We'll do that again soon. Besides, we don't text all the time. I do when I'm not busy because I know that, in December, with the songs we prepared, we'll have to record for the seven of us and do a dance to at least one of them if we make a comeback. We won't be able to chat then. Also, she's busy too. She has a new videoclip to work on and a merch contract. With the 12h time difference, we text maybe twice a week for more than 5 minutes. She's an adult and acts as such."
I think my friends saw how upset I was. I understand the worry, but I wasn't a child. I was damned if I did and damned if I didn't. "What if we talked about what we came here for?" Jin hyung proposed.
Oh, yes please. Suga typed on his computer. "Yeah, here are the ones I wrote. Namjoon, Hoseok, do you have your flash drives?"
I handed it to him. "It's in the Old school file."
A frown from Hobi. "Old school? You mean N.O era?"
I denied. "You never walk alone mixed with The best moments of life."
His eyes glimmered. "Oh! That's exciting ~" We gave a listen to the first demo. "Woah! I love that. I'm sure the maknaes will adore it."
"How did it come to mind?" The one touching the computer said. From the look on my face. "Nevermind. It's that Canadian girl, huh? She gave you the idea?"
"It wasn't working in the studio so I asked her what she'd like to hear from us, what fans would like. She brought up our original sounds before we really tried for America. It inspired me. That's all." I explained. "I missed those older sounds too and my creative abilities came back." We listened to another. "Isn't it being good what we want?"
He sighed. "Fair enough. It is very good. We can surely work with that." He pat my shoulder. "Great job."
"Thanks." He wasn't mad anymore? That was something. My phone rang. "Sorry, give me a second." Right, I asked her to call me when she got the merchandise contract. With daylight saving time adjustments, 9pm was 10am for her. Already that late? It was 6pm not too long ago. I took the call outside. "Hey, sorry. I totally forgot it was today. You received the documents?"
"I did, we talked in a video call and sent me a copy. I texted you the details. Translated in English, of course. You don't have to answer me now. I just wanted to tell you it went well and to thank you for giving it a look." Of course, I'd offer her to take a look. It wasn't a one time thing like a video or an event. Merchandise was a big thing and what cut they take out of it is important. She had to make money on it.
"I'm glad to hear it went well. I'll check them later or tomorrow morning. The guys and I are going over the songs we composed to see what we keep or put in the next album." I answered making my way back in. "Take care until then, Mina. Alright?"
"You too! You haven't had a day alone to yourself to relax since you left the military, no? Maybe think of taking one. You'll burn yourself out. Bye!" Caring of her to say so. Now that I thought about it, she wasn't wrong. They all looked at me. "What?"
A muffled laugh from two of them. "Look at you answering late night calls."
It was not a new thing. "I do that with Zico when he calls late. Moonbyul too. What's the point?"
Jin frowned. "You didn't talk long."
I nodded. "I'm with you guys. I told her I'd answer her later since she said it wasn't urgent."
Yoongi Hyung laughed. No way. "Namjoon being reasonable? Mark it on the calendar."
"That was uncalled for, but I deserve it. Let's hear your tracks then!"
We ended up with more than a few nice pieces for a coherent album. I couldn't wait to show Kookie and the others.
