Mina's POV
This was unusual for me. "You're sure you had time to come with me?"Joonie nodded, sitting while the tailor was pinning my dress. "You asked me to be there since you've never done this before. I made time for it. It's important to me." He passed his fingers over his lips. "It's beautiful on you. It looked like nothing on the hanger."
I smiled. "You think? I love the neckline and the fabric." I took a look at where she pinned. I didn't know how to ask in Hangul. "What type of stitch is she gonna do? It's a rental is it not?"
He asked for me. "They're temporary. Easily removable. It won't leave a trace on the gown." He smiled to himself.
"What's that face for? What did you do?"
He rose his hands up. "Nothing! Nothing.. You'll see. You still have a few dresses to get fitted for."
A few? "I thought you said three?"
"In what did you think you'd show up in when you don't walk the carpet with me? You still need formal attire. There's a suit in there too." He had to be joking.
"I was planning to go shopping for a few on my day off." I admitted.
Namjoon's POV
After our first award show together? Yeah, right. She'd be drained. She slept almost all day Sunday, except for her other comeback performance with Hwasa. "As if!" She laughed. "Honestly, Miny. Who were you fooling?"She sighed, hands on her hips. "Trying to fool myself, but it's not working, is it?" She got off the pedestal with my help. "Thank you for picking some for me." As much as she wanted to know and control most of the things she was part of in teamwork, she was more lenient with me.
It didn't seem to upset her. "Really? There are more than there are galas because I wasn't sure if some fabrics would be uncomfortable for you. I went for the look?" I mimed her shape. "You know.. How the dress or suit would fit you: the colour, the cut, the fabric, the length.. How it matched the themes."
She got out of the dressing room with another dress on. "You thought of all of that?"
Of course! "Why would I do anything differently?"
"I'm so in love with you." Did I hear that right? Not I love you. It was way more meaningful.
"You can't take that back." I covered the bottom of my face. I was smiling like an idiot."
She had a gorgeous half grin on. "Your eyes are telling on yourself, handsome." Damn it. I wasn't as secretive as I thought.
Mina's POV
"Giiiiirl! That performance Tuesday was A-MAZING. I saw you shoot it, but the flustered crowd was the cherry on top." Moonbyul complimented me.I missed their studio. "Thanks! When are the rest of the dancers coming?"
She sat down. "Not until 2pm." I did too. "Figured we could have one on one time together."
Gladly accepted that. "I have to thank you for letting me sleep at your place when Joonie and I argued. You and Hobi probably had other plans."
"No, no.. Don't sweat it. He wasn't planning on staying."
Right. "But I spoiled your dinner."
She frowned and slapped my hand. "You. Did. Not. He said so himself. You were lovely. We didn't talk about your problems until he left. Friends are there for that. I offered you to come over."
I adored her. "Can I call you my best friend? Here, I mean."
She chuckled. "Oh, babe. Of course, you can! You know too much about me not to call me that either."
That made me feel better. "Since we have an hour before anyone comes, want to talk about how sickeningly sweet Hoseok oppa was to you?"
Her eyes went wide. "You noticed?"
"Even a robot would notice! What's that about?"
Her cheeks were getting so flushed, she covered them. "Keep your mouth shut! Promise?"
Ohhhhh. "I promise! I swear!"
She dug into her bag and took a leather box out. "Only the girls and my mother know. Keep quiet." She excitedly opened it to reveal a silver band with an hexagonal onyx at the center.
I covered my opened mouth. "No. Way. Shut up! SHUT. UP. He did that? Engagement ring or promise ring?"
She showed a finger. "How? When?"She put it back in safety. "Sunday! He did it here, actually. He came here to dance with me and turns out he planned a proposal. He did it in a place that was meaningful to us."
I was so happy for her! "You deserve this, truly."
"Ever thought of getting married? In general. Most people don't see me as the marriage type because I'm not into feminine clothes, but I'd hell of marry in a suit. You know?"
She made me laugh. "I never thought you weren't. You did say once you had thought of marriage. In 2021, I think."
"How good of a memory do you have?" She slapped my thigh. "You're evading my question. Have you?"
"Personally, I don't believe in the institution of marriage in the traditional sense. I think traditional gender roles were there for an unjustified reason other than history and religion. I do still wish to get married one day. I love the idea of a party for the celebration of their affection. The bureaucracy of it is almost a game of who's gonna lose the most. Even in common law union, but that may just be my skewed view from my parents." I smiled. "To make it short.. I'd love to. I just don't know who believes in it the way I do these days."
Eonni nodded, grinning. "They don't marry much in Quebec, do they?" I shook my head. "You'll find most millennials here have a similar view to you. Hoseok believes in the institution of marriage, but not in the traditional sense." She winked. "I'll have my wedding suit."
