Mina's POV
I fixed my gloss before getting out of the car. "Is it decent?"Kookie oppa laughed. "Min! You'll probably get your makeup done anyway. Don't worry about it."
Meg and my boyfriend said the same thing. "It's perfect."
It wasn't the first time I went live there, but a presentation instead of an interview was new. Also, my friends were watching and I was talking about them. Joonie helped me out of the car. "Sabrina approved of everything from your setup to your outfit. Enjoy yourself!"
We made our way up in the elevator. "I hope you'll like it!" I fixed my shirt. "I hope my white blouse under won't get stained."
"Babe, if you keep playing with it, you will. She asked for K-style Idol outfit that's do-able. That's great! If you stain it, you can remove it and it'll still be stylish."
Oh, please. They were dressed in denim and t-shirts as well, ready to dance as Sabrina proposed. Arriving on the floor this early in the morning, we were welcomed by quite the Quebec weekend morning show crew. "Mina! It's even better than I expected! Let's settle you in a makeup chair and get the rest of you taken care of." She shook the guys' hands. "It's very nice to meet you. Thank you so much for coming."
They smiled and Kook answered. "We're happy to be here. I hope English is okay? We're not fluent in French at all."
She sweetly replied. "Your presence is what's important. English or Korean, Mina told me she could translate for words we might not know or understand."
I nodded. Namjoon had to make sure. "You're perfectly sure."
I grinned. "Of course I am!" I grabbed Meg by the shoulders. "This is Meganne. She's basically my sister, so please take good care of her while I'm busy!" She had an amazing time.
Sabrina was getting her hair done at the same time as me. "I know I asked you already, but it's fine with you if your friend and your boyfriend do some web capsules and interviews for later?"
I chuckled. "Of course! What chance do you have to get them on screen here? They never stepped foot in the province before. They're happy to. Besides, my segment is mine alone. They will be in some clips, but not properly in it. I didn't ask. You could make a capsule about continuing the conversation with them with you or with us. Did you think about that?"
Her eyes went wide. "I did not! That's so great! We should do that. I don't have questions prepared though."
"Pfff, don't worry about it. You can think of them while I do my segment. It can be about their perspective as Idols, what the struggles are, what they like the most, what would they add." I gave a couple of ideas.
"You should be a regular, honestly! You are so quick and you pulled this off in two days. My team would take a week or two for this much content." She mentioned. I didn't know if she was serious or not, so I let it slide. "Let's get set!"
Namjoon's P.O.V
"With the music award season starting, we see new names in the nominees. We've all heard of BTS, the kings of Kpop, but other groups made their way in like TXT, Stray Kids, Mamamoo. I thought it would be a good time for a refresher on what Kpop is and who better than someone working with them." Sabrina turned to my radiant girlfriend. "Mina, thank you for joining us today."She did a small bow, seated. "Thank you for having me."
"So, what is Kpop? Why do people like it so much?"
She was all smiles. "Kpop is South Korean pop music. As you said, BTS have been the face of it for a decade in the West. I think that the diversity of Kpop is what makes it so popular. Just like western pop, you have types. Cute, fancy, traditional, sexy.. Here are a couple of pictures from the same group:TXT."
"They started cute with Crown."
"Scholar with Runaway."
"Then more bad boy with this one. Kpop is also about groups. You get more diversity and harmonies. It's also a full show! You get amazing, complicated dances.."
Sabrina added. "Like the ones you were in." She showed a Mamamoo clip. "How does the industry treat foreigners or people who are not a size zero? I mean, they're pretty thin are they not?" Oh, dear God. I couldn't jump in. Shut up Namjoon.
She brushed her straightened hair back. "A lot better than when I first got into Kpop as a teenager that's for sure." A soft chuckle. "Look. I'm not a size 2. I probably weigh 60lbs more than the intended woman Idol weight, but Korea opened itself to more foreign talent and skills get you there if work hard. It's the same here. Kpop has a formula that works and scandals erupt from simple things like someone eating a piece of cake to someone smoking. That's the media though. The artists make amazing music and work that deserves to be seen here by the general public!" They went on doing a small history on BTS which was funny to watch. She answered pretty well!
"Thanks for answering our questions about Kpop today! This week, you'll see an exclusive interview with RM and Jungkook of BTS!"
The show's song for the commercial break came on and they left the set. We all got up to hug my Moonie. "You were great!"
Mina grinned. "Thanks! We're filming your stuff on the other floor so the music or your voices won't be heard."
I'd make sure to make her proud. "You'll have to join at some point. Trust me."
Sabrina joined us. "You did amazing, Mina! Ready for something a little different?"
We were.
