A/N: OH HELLO? AM I BACK FOR A ONE SHOT? I GUESS I AMMMM, ENJOY

The knock on the door caught me off guard. Given that it was nearly midnight and I wasn't expecting anyone.

I don't normally get visitors. Never mind at night.

I stood in front of the door a little longer, quickly thinking about everything that could go wrong as I put my hand around the door handle.

I don't know why I was opening the door. But when I did, I realised quickly there was no need to feel threatened.

Billie Joe looked over at me silently from the other side of the doorway. He looked tired, ill. Maybe it was the lighting or the time, but this wasn't the Billie Joe I was normally faced with.

"I'm sorry," he apologised. Which took me by surprise. "Y'know, I don't know why I'm here. I was trying so hard to think of an excuse before you opened the door but... I got nothing,"

Billie and I had been friends for quite some time now, but yet still I can't remember a time other than now he'd shown up at this time.

Billie didn't really actually leave the house very much. When we hung out it only really insisted on me and him lounging around in his basement.

So I wasn't sure what to think, maybe that's why I was so quiet.

"I can leave?" Billie looked over at me hesitantly.

I shook my head, fast. "No." I said quickly. "Don't leave. I was just going to pour up another drink... if you want one? Did you drive here?"

He chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head. "Walked. Well... I went on a walk. And somehow... I seemed to of found myself knocking at your front door,"

"Billie, are you alright?"

He smiled guilty. "A drink sounds good,"

I knew what that answer meant. Probably a big fat no. But luckily for my friend Billie, I was beginning to get bored drinking by myself anyway.

I smiled sincerely, opening the door wide for him to let himself through. As he walked past me into the front room.

His eyes caught sight of the coffee table, with empty bottles of beer a set out game of solitaire. "Did I disturb your solitaire?" He couldn't help but chuckle.

I'm sure Billie didn't even know how to play solitaire.

"Oh shut up." I giggled, shutting the door. "Solitaire and those beers have been my entertainment for the past three hours. But now you're here,"

"I am,"

"So... why are you here?" I couldn't help but ask, following him into the front room as I collected the half played cards into a pile.

Billie looked away, side eyeing the door. "I don't know. I thought I'd go on a long walk. Like a real long one. Yet for some reason on my long walk returning back home I found myself knocking at your door. I just... I just wanted to see you? That doesn't sound too corny does it?"

I let out a loud chuckle. "You and corny? Didn't think I'd ever hear those words placed together,"

He rolled his eyes with this big guilty grin, sitting himself down on my couch. "Drinking beers?"

"Ahh," I made my way to the table, collecting the empty bottles. "That was an hour ago. I've since moved on to whiskey. Would you like one?"

He sighed in relief. "I would love a whiskey,"

"You stay put." I ordered, leaving him sat as I made my way into the kitchen.

Sat on the side was my original empty glass, as I pulled out another for Billie joe. Pouring us both a big whiskey and cola. He looked like he could probably do with a big one, I know I could.
