FOURTY-ONE

Maize Ermias Stinson

Born Aug 17th at the crack of dawn 6am. Although maize was in the womb and always connected with his mother. He felt when her eating changed,her emotions, everything.

He comforted her by trying not to kick as much or move to much. He heard her cries, even when she hadn't even dropped a tear.

He didn't and probably would never know what situation his mother was going though her whole pregnancy with him. He knew the situation was no longer, he felt it.

JaNylah had been relieved that for one she had been reunited with E3. But she secretly felt like nothing was there anymore for the two.

She didn't wanna just put that out there tho, didn't wanna regret a decision. But the main reason she was happy because her baby would be born in a hospital. Who knows where he would've been born if not.

She didn't know about his health at all due to no doctors appointments during her whole pregnancy. Doctors said her and the baby were both healthy, well at-least seemed healthy. He said he would be able to run all the text once baby arrives.

E3 and chino were each on one side still surprised to see her and how much her looks changed since the last time they've saw her.

Truth is the more they looked at her they felt guilty though they hadn't did a thing. It felt like they let her down and they thought Nyla would be furious with them.

"Ugh he sitting right on my bladder, and he keep making me have to pee!!" Nyla said as Elias laughed and helping her up from the bed.

"Don't be blaming my son, witcho pissy ass" he said helping her to the bathroom. She rolled her eyes laughing and hitting his shoulder.

"Don't okay with me! Never been pissy" she exclaimed sitting on the toilet. She didn't have any undergarments on, which wasn't 100% necessary. She felt comfortable that way and would soon have to expose her self anyway to a bunch of nudes and doctors.

Once she was finished she washed her hands and let him escort her back to her bed. Chino was on a food run to some chicken place  which Nyla had nearly demanded. Something about some wings were calling her name as well as calling Maize name too.

"Elias dI'd you find another girlfriend? Or girlfriends?" She asked him. Not Im a angry tone or bothered tone. She just simply wanted to know, but she felt she already knew the answer. She wouldn't be mad tho, Elias made a promise that no girl/woman would ever have his heart the way Nyla did. Together or not the promise wouldn't be broken.

"Yes but it was never anything to serious, I couldn't let it get to that point knowing you.... And my son were gone. I'd constantly get angry at myself, I tried therapy a few times didn't work for me. Fell back into a lot of old things I used to do, I stopped tho"

"I didn't like how I was becoming the old me...at some point I realized you gotta want and do better for yourself no matter what situation. Hurts to say I was hurting every day about y'all. Shit it felt like I was dying some days, a Nigga was depressed" Elias laughed as some tears slid down his face.

She rubbed his back as she pulled him in for a hug. That was her Elias no matter what and she was his. Oh how she missed this touch and feeling and his scent that filled her with comfort.

He felt the same with her, his long nights and short days were no longer. He would now have his Sanity back.
