Chapter 01: HOME

"Once you marry me, you'll experience hell."

That's what Sean told me before we got married. Those words were already stuck inside my head. It was a threat, but I didn't back out from our marriage. I still pushed through for my happiness and that is getting married to him.

My dad tried to stop me at first, but he loves me so much... Thus he didn't stop me from reaching my happiness. My mom died while giving birth to me. I'm all what dad has, that's why he's willing to give everything that would make me happy and that includes Sean, who's luckily, a son of dad's business partner and also a close friend.

I used to believe that I can change his stand about our fixed marriage; that I can change the way he feel about me; that someday, he'll learn to love me.

I was too caught up and trapped in fairy tales and fictional stories that I think it can also happen to me in reality, and have a happily ever after with the only man I love.

And right now that he literally let me experience hell, I have no right to complain.

I couldn't tell him that I'm already hurting. I couldn't tell him to stop emotionally hurting me even just for a day to heal my bruised heart. And to prepare myself for another pain that will come along the way.

I stopped thinking about it and looked at the waiter who's waiting for my attention.

"Drinks, Ma'am?" The waiter who passed by our table offered me a drink from the tray that he was holding.

"No, thanks." I refused and smiled.

He just nodded at me and moved on to the next tables.

A certain couple grinding each other on the dance floor caught my attention.

I'm in a club with Nikki and some colleagues to celebrate her birthday. They were enjoying the dance floor, while I'm just here at our table away from all the crowd.

"Do you have any juice or any drink without alcohol?"

"There's a restaurant lounge upstairs, Ma'am. We have foods there, as well as drinks that are not alcoholic," he answered with a pleasing smile.

The restaurant has soft lighting and peaceful music, it has a pleasant, soothing ambience while the club area is a bit rough.

I went to the counter and ordered a meal to fill my empty. It's really hard to please my stomach and keep it full for some time.

While waiting for my food, I type a text message to Manang to ask if Sean's already home but I was suddenly interrupted by a stranger.

"09********** that's my number. Did you get it?" He abruptly said.

I looked at him. He's grinning while pointing at my phone.

I frown and rolled my eyes before looking back on my phone. I forgot what am I going to do.

"I don't want to be bothered." I stated the obvious and turned away. Narinig kong bigla siyang tumawa kaya muli akong napatingin sakanya.

"I don't even know what's funny."
