Chapter 09: RIGHT THING

"Can you sing me a song?" I suddenly asked him when we're already laying on my bed.

We just came from my appointment with my ob-gyn and from strolling at the mall. Sean agreed to spend the night here at my maiden's house because I wanted to stay here longer.

"You want me to sing?" He narrowed his eyebrows.

"I wanna hear you sing."

He grinned. "Guess, I have no choice. My wife wants to hear me sing."

Isiniksik ko naman ang aking sarili papalapit sa kanya para mas marinig ko ang kanyang boses at mas maramdaman ko ang presensya niya. I immediately felt comfortable with my position. I think I'll be forever comfortable in his arms no matter what the position is.

"𝘛𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮..." he started singing and his voice sent shivers down my spine.

I didn't know that he has a good singing voice that's enough to give me goosebumps. I wonder if he sang a lot before...

He started brushing my hair using his long slender fingers while singing.

What if I stay forever? What if there's no goodbye? Frozen for a moment here in time, yeah...

If you tell me, the sky is falling, Or say that the stars collide. The only thing that matters in my life, Is you and I tonight...

wonder how one's life will go on if there's no goodbye and if there is forever. I think, that's the best thing that can happen in my life. You wouldn't have to think about the future or be scared of losing someone because you know that you'll be together no matter what.

But of course, there's no such thing as forever. Scientifically speaking, we're not immortals in order to live forever. There's only a lifetime.

I don't need Sean to live or be with me forever. I just want him for a lifetime. But if not, the time he's giving me now is already enough. I wouldn't ask for more. Hindi ko mailarawan ang saya na nararamdaman ko tuwing kasama ko siya.

"𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦-" napatigil siya sa pagkanta nang biglang tumunog ang kanyang cell phone.

Ilang sandali rin kaming nagkatinginan mula ng mag ring ang kanyang cell phone bago niya ito kinuha sa bulsa ng kanyang shorts.

Nang makita ko kung sino ang tumawag, bumagsak ang puso ko sa pinakamataas na palapag na inakyat nito mula nang magsimula na naman itong umasa dahil sa simpleng pagkanta sa akin ni Sean.

Shannen's calling him. Maybe she wants to listen to his voice before going to sleep.

Sean then looked at me like he wanted to ask me if it's okay to answer Shannen's call. Pero dahil nga ako na yata ang pinakatanga at pinaka-martyr na babae, tumango ako bilang pagpayag.

Naging panatag ang loob ko nang sinagot niya ang tawag sa aking tabi.

"Hello? I'm not at home, Shan. I won't be going home for tonight. Where are you?" Biglang dumiin ang boses ni Sean at tumayo siya mula sa pagkakahiga.

He suddenly went to the veranda to continue talking with Shannen. Nag-iwas siya ng tingin at tumalikod nang makitang nakatingin ako sa kanya. Humiga na lang ako nang maayos sa kama at saka ipinikit ang aking mga mata.

My faith suddenly got destroyed. May mga bagay talagang hindi ko dapat marinig o malaman. It's better if it's a secret. Gaya nang pagiging mag-asawa naming dalawa. It's better to keep our relationship secret.
