White Light Academy...
It's only the first day and I hate this place. First I come late and I get detention, i'm just fine with that but...
Magic Camp is basically a class on bullying. Anyone who does a spell weaker than the others or messes it up gets severely reprimanded by the teacher... Mrs. Cheverino.
By "severely reprimanded" I mean she would have that person sit in a chair dead center of the classroom with a hat that reads "STUPID SERF."
I guess before I continue I should say what a 'serf' is. A serf is someone who can't use magic and since magic is something really important in Sutra...
It's looked down upon by magic users to have no magic... It's sad really.
Anyway, wanna guess who was in that chair? Me. Fucking Christ.
I heard everyone's thoughts. Most of them focused on Mrs. Cheverino and the others laughed at my misery.
What did I do to deserve this? I failed a levitation spell...
All I have left to do now is brood. The damn teacher won't even look at me anymore and her thoughts were either focusing on the lesson or judging the students. Everyone was at their desks trying to levitate apples, but i'm doing nothing because I couldn't get the bloody apple to move.
The teacher kept stressing on focusing on the 'positive emotions within us'. Having this stupid, complaining, judgemental hag say to "focus on the positive" was getting me upset. I could feel something dark manifesting into the room as I got angrier.
Everyone else seemed to notice it too. Including, Mrs. Cheverino who seemed to look around with fear in her eyes and mind. In fact, everyone seemed scared and confused.
Then, I could have sworn I saw a woman with red hair and caramel colored skin look into the room with a wicked smile. But she was gone before I could see more of her in detail.
Suddenly, a loud smack was heard as Mrs. Cheverino slapped me across my face.
I fell out of the chair and landed on the floor in shock.
"Witch" Ms. Cheverino said with a look of absolute horror as she pointed at me. The dark manifestation seemed to have stopped as I was smacked.
Holy shit.
A teacher just slapped, and ridiculed me...
Was I angry? Damn right I was angry.
While I got up from the polished white tile floor I stared straight at Mrs. Cheverino. All of the other students were crowded in the back of the classroom, including Ashley. I felt a slight edge of guilt knowing that I was scaring the everlasting shit out of her.
The darkness that I felt manifesting earlier seemed to have gotten stronger and quicker. All of a sudden the door to the classroom was opened by a woman with sandy brown hair that didn't seem to be cut right. She looked heavily ill, with deep under eye bags, oily hair, and pale skin that seemed waxy and feverish. Her eyes made it seem like she was blind, because they were extremely cloudy.
"Get out" the woman commanded as she looked at the students her voice sounded strained and weak, it also held an accent that I couldn't quite place.
They didn't need to be told twice. Everyone jetted out of the classroom, except for Ashley. She stood where she was and stared at me. "What did I tell you?" the woman repeated this time with a much more harsh tone in her voice. Ashley didn't move. I couldn't read the woman's mind but I could read Ashley's.
What are you?
Was all that I could hear in her mind.
Ms. Cheverino was still in the room, mortified.
The strange woman sighed and said "Erna, can you please remove this mortal from the room." Another woman walked into the room. It was the red haired lady from earlier. Her eyes were different in color, the left being a rich brown and the right a rich crimson red. Her red hair was the color of wine and in a braid down her back.
The other woman, Erna, rolled her eyes and forcibly pulled Ashley out of the room. When both of them left the room the brunnete closed and locked the classroom door. She then looked expectantly at the rooms corner.
Mrs. Cheverino was laying in a heap on the floor crying her eyes out and praying. I just stood and stared at this poor, pathetic old woman. The darkness that I felt was getting stronger and stronger. Their was even a black shadow of a giant six-tailed canine growing in the corner of the room. Am I causing all of this?
As I got more angry about the situation, the quicker the menacing shadow manifested. After what seemed like an eternity the shadow finished forming.
Oh my god.
The white ceiling was groaning with stress as the large six-tailed fox struggled to stand completely up right. It had long, black fur except on the tip of its tails in which the fur was white. The most terrifying part was that it wore a dragon skull mask to cover its face.
Both me and Mrs. Cheverino stood transfixed and terrified.
The fox shifted into mist and transformed into the form of a tall woman. This woman had long, messy, black hair that covered the left side of her face. Her right eye was the color of the sky during a thunderstorm and she had slit pupils. She was pale and thin and wore mostly black except for a rusted silver necklace that had a glowing blue stone hanging off of it.
The brunnete woman looked at the black haired woman with a look of excitement. "Nerium, it's so good to see you again." the brunnete said. I was able to figure out her accent as Irish, which was odd.
"Yeah, good to see you too Claudia" The black haired woman spoke in an Asian accent, it sounded Japanese. Mrs. Cheverino was mortified about what just went on and I could hear the fear and accusations in her mind: This is the witches fault, it has to be. But if three are here, where is the fourth one?
I had no idea what she was going on about so I just continued to stare at her. I didn't think I was a witch either. Witches were supposed to be all dead and gone, since the Gilligan Witch Hunts of the 90s. The other women, Claudia and Nerium, were having a regular conversation, like two terrified people weren't in the room.
I cleared my throat and said "Hello" to the strangers. Mrs. Cheverino looked at me with even more terror in her eyes and mind. They both turned with an expression that read 'oh, yeah you're here'.
Nerium looked at Mrs. Cheverino and the old bag started folding over with pain. I tried to help her but she just slapped me away and thought: Don't touch me filthy witch.
When Nerium looked away I didn't bother to ask her what she did. I already knew...
She read Mrs. Cheverino's mind. I wanted to read her mind in return but I couldn't she was too powerful, everyone in this room was...
"Come with us" Nerium said as she headed for the door with Claudia in toe.
What? I thought as I stood there flabbergasted.
But before I could say anything Nerium stopped and looked at Mrs. Cheverino and said "Oh, I almost forgot, goodnight, Kayla." I was confused but than I heard Mrs. Cheverino gasp in horror.
Mrs. Cheverino suddenly, gripped her chest and began gasping for air. I was so confused and I didn't know what to do so I stood motionless and watched and heard as the old hag died.
Once she was dead Nerium and Claudia looked at me expectantly.
They think that I am going with them?
Hell no.
