Fortunately, no one was home when I opened the front door...

But their was a note from David saying that they knew about my detention, and that I would be in trouble when they got back. Well great, it's not like I wasn't in a bad mood already. I wheeled on the four women behind me. They all looked a bit confused by my action.

"Well...explain." I said as I tried my best to control my anger. I couldn't feel any other additional presence manifesting, so that was a good thing. Claudia, Erna, and Nerium all looked at each before they seemed to settle their eyes on Tristesse. The deathly French woman rolled her eyes and sighed. "Well what do you wish to know?" she inquired. "Everything...starting from exactly who the hell are you guys?" I asked, letting my anger flow in my words. Claudia cringed at my tone. They again glanced towards each other, probably deciding who should speak, well confess, first.

Thankfully, to break the uncomfortable silence Erna stepped up. Though she still had a wide grin on her face. "Well have you ever heard of the The Harbinger's." she exclaimed with a smug smile. Of course, I didn't know what the hell she was talking about. She smiled more at my confused expression. Claudia spoke up at my confusion, "Well that's what we're called but feel free to call us whatever you like". I was still confused on why they're called this, but the name sounded strangely familiar. "Anything else?" Claudia added.
"Yes. I mean, individually who are you?" I responded, lightening my tone as I spoke. Erna was the first to respond. "My full name is Erna Vígdis Ragnhildr" she stated with a proud bow. Claudia spoke up once again to say "Claudia Abbán Lefu Gair". I nodded my head with this new information and stared at Nerium and Tristesse expectantly. Nerium was the first to speak, albeit she rushed her words "Ummmm...Nerium Akira Solaris Ouranío Kagezaki". I couldn't help but smirk at her uncomfortable tone and body language. She noticed and gave a glare in my direction. Then it was Tristesse's turn. Everyone glanced at the white haired female. She sighed and rolled her pale eyes before answering "If you must know, Tristesse LaMort is my name". Now that I knew their names I could relax. I sat down at the kitchen table and put my head in my hands. Through the crack in my fingers I could see Tristesse, Claudia, and Nerium all take seats at the table and Erna sit on the floor.

"What's your name?... If you don't mind me asking." Claudia asked after a moment of pause. I looked up flabbergasted at her question. "You mean to tell me that you just come along out of nowhere and intrude in someone's life AND NOT KNOW THEIR NAME!" I yelled angrily. Claudia and Nerium both flinched at my volume, but Erna's smile widened and Tristesse rolled her eyes.
"You didn't have to yell, you know." Nerium said as she leaned back in the kitchen chair. Instead of answering I glared at her with my amber eyes. She glared back. "Shut up, fox lady." I said with malice. Instead of getting upset she sneered and said "Just say your name, little witch".

Amber against gray, that's how the following moments were spent as me and Nerium stared each other down. "Emmaline. Emmaline Hekate Jones. That is my name, nothing else." I said with a harsh tone. Nerium smiled, showing her canines. I glared at the four women in front of me, still angry about them not knowing my name but still tampering with my life.
"Emmaline, Shmemmaline, it doesn't matter you're still a witch, and that's what's important." Erna said like a child who got away with stealing candy. This redheaded bitch. "Explain to me how I am a witch, because I don't see how I can be a witch." I said while leaning forward in my chair. All four women leaned back as if to signify 'is this bitch serious'.

"Are you aware of what a 'witch' is?" Tristesse asked in her emotionless voice. I nodded my head in response.
"Really? I don't think you do. But please say what you think a witch is." Tristesse said. The three women sat in silence as they waited for my answer.

"A witch is a vial thing that uses magic to enforce and bring out the the source of all evil a-"
"Wrong." Tristesse interrupted me as she raised her hand.
"But i've been told that." I said trying to keep my slowly crumbling resolve. "Well, you are wrong. The people who have told you that were lying." Tristesse said with a tone of steel.
"How could they have been lying?" I said.
"History is written by the victors." she said her voice still as hard as steel. I'm so fucking confused right now...

Claudia with a face of slight worry said "Alright...Emmaline...ask us something else". I ignored the fact that she said my name like it was a foreign language. But I didn't want to just move on to another topic that easily so I asked "Why do you think I am a witch?" Claudia gave a look of minor exasperation, Nerium put her head on the table with a soft bang, Erna leaned on the flower-patterned wallpaper with a light chuckle, and Tristesse gave me a steely glare with her lifeless eyes. "What makes you think that you aren't a witch?" Tristesse asked me while still staring at me.
"Well...witches were hunted down and killed during the Gilligan Witch Hunts of the 90s, or is that not true." I said leaning forward once again. "Well though that is true, but it's not the entire story. But to answer your first question your magic aura feels like that of a witches..."Tristesse said as her steely gaze weakened. The fuck is that supposed to mean...

Before I could ask more Nerium said "You need to learn how to control your magic, witch or not". I don't know how am I supposed to learn magic when I am barely able to lift a damned apple. "We could teach you magic, if you want?" Claudia offered me. Admittedly, it sounded like it was a great idea. Even more so since these four might have just ruined any chance I had at White Light Academy. I heard Erna give a little groan at the thought of having to teach me anything. Nerium smirked and leaned back a little more in her chair. Tristesse looked just as cold and emotionless as before. Claudia gazed at me with a small amount of kindness in her cloudy eyes.
"Let me think about it." I said still somewhat questioning their motives.

"We will give you a week to let you think about it. Than we will see about telling you anymore, but for now we shall leave." Tristesse said as she stood out of the chair. Nerium and Erna groaned as they too stood up. "But-" Claudia tried to say something but was silenced by a glare from Tristesse.
"One week, Emmaline. Trust your intuition." Tristesse said as she walked to the door and opened it. The other three begrudgingly walked out of my front door and with a wave of Tristesse's hand and a strong breeze all four women were gone.

I stared at my door for at least 5 minutes before I put my head in my hands. I have no idea what in the serious fuck to do. First a fucking teacher dies next to me, I meet four probable psychos, my only friend is gone, and now I have to do some fucking research because a certain four ladies barely explained shit to me. Fuck my life. I hope this day won't get any worse...

Than the phone rang. I picked it up and the first thing I heard was:
"Hello? Is this the residence of a Emmaline Jones?"
I told the lady on the phone that it was my residence.
"Are you her parent or legal guardian?"
I responded yes.
"This is the guidance counselor at White Light Academy. I regret to inform you that your daughter has been absent for the school day and we need to give her detention for the week. Alright so that is all and have a nice day."
That was what she said before hanging up the phone. Well shit...

I couldn't take all this right now. I grabbed my keys and walked out of the house. I listened to the sounds of the people and walked to the nearest library.

I might as well start now...
