I have to kiss Sebastian?

I really have to kiss Sebastian...

I frantically glanced up at Sebastian, ignoring the heat that has reached my cheeks. He looked at me with confusion in his green eyes. Those entrancing eyes. My gaze moved to his lips, reminding me of his kiss during our walk back to my place. My cheeks burned even more just thinking about it.

"Are you okay, Emmaline? What does it say?" Sebastian asked, breaking me out of my flustering thoughts.

"I'm fine, the directions are just complicated." That isn't really a way to explain it.

Not necessarily complicated, but just extremely direct and specific. That's a better explanation. Something tells me that I wouldn't want to get any of these steps incorrect... My soul might get dragged to the pits of Hell, or something.

I look back at Cynthia's instructions and see that I have already fucked up a little bit, I was supposed get the salt and put it around myself and the circle before I sat down. I mentally facepalmed as I got back up and moved to get the salt.  I crossed my fingers in hope that my soul won't be disintegrated the moment I step out the circle.

Nothing happened. That's great, but I don't think I wanna push my luck though. One of the few things I truly managed to remember from White Light is that when it comes to magic, a backlash is always expected when a spell/ritual is done wrong. But I guess I'm fine for now, it's all for the setup.

"You having fun there?" Sebastian drawls as I walk up to the table and grab the, surprisingly, heavy bag of salt. Instead of answering I send a glare into those moss green eyes. Sebastian lifts up his hands in mocking surrender while he chuckles.

I return to the side of the circle and started pouring the salt counterclockwise around the circle and red candles, I noticed Sebastian tense up as I got closer to completing the salt circle. When I finished and stepped inside the circle I felt a strong shift in the atmosphere. Before the circle, the air around Sebastian felt normal, but now it feels heavy and oppressive. I chanced another glance at Sebastian, and held back a look of surprise. In all the years that I have known Sebastian he has never looked uncomfortable. Uneasy, but never uncomfortable. But now I look at him and he looks like he just got assigned the seat next to that one creepy kid in class who never stops staring and touching whoever they are next to.

I shook my head and continued with the next step. I began placing another salt circle around myself before I sat down, this time clockwise. As I completed this circle I felt the air around me begin to lighten, and when I finished the air returned to normal. I look back up at Sebastian and see that he still looks uncomfortable.

"You having fun there?" I ask, with a smirk, as I sit down in my completed salt circle. He sends me a glare that could potentially rival my earlier glare.

"Can we get on with this, please?" Sebastian said, a noticeable tense tone present in his usually calm, mocking voice. Though I could begrudgingly agree, I don't want to stretch this out either. I nod and take another look at the instructions. I'm glad Cynthia already put all of the other necessary things in the center of the circle, because I would hate to get back up again. I pick up the iron bowl and the silver blade. I feel a strange heating in my hands as I hold the bowl in my hand, and looking at the blade closer I notice it is intricately carved throughout the blade and handle. It also featured more of the same archaic text that was in the Grimoire. 'May all unholy beings be cut down', well that's a bucket of sunshine...

After placing the bowl in the center, close to the lone candle, I hover my hand over the bowl and make a cut across my palm. I watch as the red droplets drop into dark bowl and sizzle? That probably explains the heat I felt. Note to self: Try not to get hurt by iron, it seems like it might hurt. Letting my blood pool in the bowl I grab the roll of bandages and wrap it around my wound when the bowl is a quarter full. I quickly grab Sebastian's hand, who flinches at my  sudden contact, and make a similar cut onto his palm. The first thing I notice upon the blade making contact is an audible sizzling of his skin. Sebastian attempts to struggle out of my grasp the moment the stained blade begins to draw blood. His efforts are futile however the effects of the salt and candles make sure of that. The second thing I notice is that his blood is black, like tar. I wait and watch as his blood fills the bowl another quarter way. Now that the bowl is halfway full I, finally, release his struggling hand.

"What the fuck, Emmaline?" Sebastian gruffly spats.

"Sorry," I respond, earnestly, while handing him the bandages "I kinda had to do that."

"A warning would have been great, and fuck that really hurts." Sebastian hissed.

While Sebastian was applying the bandage to his still sizzling cut, I brought my attention back to the blood filled bowl. Looking quickly at the instructions, I pick up the chain that held the amber pendant. I hover it over the bowl and start lightly swinging it counterclockwise and begin the first incantation.

"Hic est sanguis foederis,"

The red and black begin to swirl, following the movements of the swinging amber. I notice that the circle is starting to glow a faint violet. Is that my magic? I continue on to the next incantation.

"Hoc enim vinculum ad lumen infernale,"

Sebastian's unease never lessens, if anything it gets worse. I stop my swinging of the amber and swing it clockwise this time, the blood following its movements without fail.

"Et hoc per virtutem caelestem gentes me cum patribus meis,"

"Emmaline, stop." Sebastian growled at me. Looking at him I could see a malicious glint in those green eyes. They quickly flashed a threatening crimson when I began the next incantation.

"Per manum meam et virtutem meam et garritus et particeps sit servus meus vos,"

The circle began glowing an even brighter violet, and Sebastian's eyes were no longer the familiar moss green.

"Sit nostra in mortem infernalis vinculum rumpere,"

Massive black feathered wings appeared from Sebastian's back and he gave an inhuman growl as I halted the rhythmic swing of the amber and held the chain in my mouth to keep it from dropping. I quickly picked up the white and black strips of silk and tied the two ends together. Once they were tied as tightly as possible I dropped them in the bowl of murky blood, followed by the amber. The moment the amber made contact with the blood the circle glowed even brighter and I heard many voices, one I could swear was my father's...

"We are proud to call you our descendant. Draw our power and quell the demon known as Sebastian Raven Mara."

Either I am going insane, or I actually heard that. This is not the time to question my sanity.

I make the next move to complete the ritual, and I bet my face is red.....

"Atque hac potestate compescere meus es tu."

I quickly grab Sebastian's face between my hands and pull him towards me. Before he could try and pull away, our lips make contact. The candles all explode with flame and die down as they turn from their original yellow to a dark violet. The circle is completely basking the room in violet light and I feel Sebastian stiffen at the contact, but he loosens up and I notice the wings fold back into nothingness along with his eyes shifting back into that familiar green.

It feels like my very being is being tied to a dark, oppressive, malicious fog, yet it feels so vulnerable at the same time...

I finally separate from Sebastian's soft lips as the glow of the circle dies down.

I can feel the burning in my cheeks as I lean back away from Sebastian's shocked face. Sebastian's shocked face is kinda hot...

Eh?!

No, I can't be thinking things like this! Not right now, I just completed a demonic ritual.

Ignoring my hormonal thoughts I stand up and begin to feel a little light-headed. I sway on my feet and the, now, dark room swirls around me as I faint.

"Emmaline!" Is all I hear before the everything goes black.

The last thing I feel is a pair of arms catching me before I actually hit the ground...
